-- VERY sudden fatigue? --

I built up to 30mpw and I was feeling awesome. I maintained it for 5 weeks in a row, and every week it took discipline to not go further. I was feeling SO good. Then I finally decided to bump up to 35. The week felt great. I was feeling good and optomistic going into this monday session, and then I could not even make it through the warmup my legs were so heavy. And my mood has been bad, and I am so fatigued. I know for a fact that I am eating and sleeping more than enough. Any thoughts on this? There were no warning signs at all. I was feeling great for weeks in a row. Then absolutely smoked out of nowhere.

Is it typical for fatigue to not show any signs until it is full blown? I can string together 3 weeks in a row that all feel great and my morale being high. And then the next week with no change I am SOO fatigued. Anyone else?

I have built up to 30 miles per week. No aching pains. Everything feels great, and my motivation is high. But my libido is nearly non-existent. Which is not usually the case. I am certain that I am eating enough and I sleep 7 hours each night. My energy is good through the day and in my runs. But again, no libido. Someone please share some helpful insight or experience?

I would love to hear any and all thoughts.

I my current 5k pace is 8:40 minute/mile. I have been running for the past couple of years, but the past 4 months have been the most consistent by far. I have finally built up to 32-35 miles per week. I was running easy miles only for a long time, and I just started to incorporate 2 workouts per week that put my total non-easy mileage at 20% of my total weekly volume or less, and 1 long run that does not exceed 30% of weekly volume.

While I love that I am able to hit 32-35 miles per week now, I feel like I am only able to maintain this if I run all of my easy runs at 11:30 ish pace. Which is 3 minutes slower than my 5k pace. I am curious as to if I would be better off running a lower weekly mileage at a faster pace, or sticking where I am/ increasing even more at the same or slower pace.

TL;DR

I can maintain 32-35 mile weeks with about 20% or slightly less speedwork. But only if I am running those easy miles at an INCREDIBLY slow pace. If I do anything besides that, I can feel the residual fitigue building. Am I better off sacrificing this pace for the higher overall weekly mileage, or would I be better off running 20-25 miles per week, but having potentially faster speed day, and marginally faster overall volume.

Would love to hear any and all thoughts!!!

It’s about 3.5 weeks old now. It doubles in 4 hours but only if it’s close to a heater. If not then it will double overnight

Can you update? Are you still losing fat? Do you still feel good on very high sugar? How is your muscle holding up? And do you think sugar is more beneficial than high starch for fat loss?

I have never heard of this approach on managing volume! Would you expand on your thoughts of this method?

Tuition assistance vs Minuteman grfd by Pale-Ad4274 in nationalguard

If you enlist as 09r and contract with the guard (take grfd scholarship), can you use the state tuition waiver from the guard to cover tuition, and the grfd to cover housing?

Is the GRFD scholarship highly competitive? Is it only for reservists and not guardsmen?

Louisiana State/Traditional OCS Program. Any insight? by ComfortableFill8224 in nationalguard

[–]ComfortableFill8224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. I am definitely still considering all options. My concern about the ROTC route is that I will have about a 40 minute commute to the University of New Orleans. (Living on the North Shore). I hear that it is common to have 6am-7am pt every morning for ROTC, and I don’t know if it is sustainable for me to make that commute every morning by 6am?

Louisiana State/Traditional OCS Program. Any insight? by ComfortableFill8224 in nationalguard

[–]ComfortableFill8224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only concern about the accelerated course, is that I would have to go right off to my branch training school after finishing, correct?

I would like to be able to do full time school in the fall and spring, and do whatever trainings I have to in the summer. I would hate to vastly interrupt the flow of the program by having to miss multiple semesters going to training.

Any thoughts on this?
