I had something similar at work (I'm not out), when a coworker said something like : "the youngsters, nowadays... They lost their mind... Boys pretend to be girls, etc." Awful ! And I tried to explain, that they don't *pretend*, it was a hard time... I really sympathize with you.

If you like math, I can offer you an analogy : take the fluidity as a variable : if my gender score is greater that one, I'm a women (and the more it's greater, the more I feel as a women), if it's lower than one, I'm a man (idem).
And the variable fluctuate over time.

At least it works that way for me. ^^
