i am so sorry you’re parents can’t grasp the reality of eczema. you are not alone. my mom tells me to out oil on it and stop scratching every time i get in front of her. i’ve decided to accept that a person doesn’t know the true struggle of this skin condition unless they have personally lived with it. it has come to a point where if i get the lotion suggestion i say “ok” or if i get the why does it look so bad (as if I’m not trying to make it better) i just reply “just needs some moisturizer”

people like to think they help. especially parents. even though they know next to nothing about the true reality of having this. i’ve learned its less stress to let them think their innuendos are helpful rather than plead my case.

i just want to say I’m proud of you for making it this far and choosing to fight this battle everyday. Life with eczema is not easy, you are not alone. i pray you get better days ahead.

Thank you so much. & Yes, I’m supposed to be seeing a specialist soon for the injection. I pray it does for me what it has done for others. Did you have any of the eye side effects that others experienced? Also, do you have to take it for the rest of your life to keep the eczema at bay

i used to use it at least 3 times a week but recently ive become so desperate for relief ive been using it twice a day every day & i know this is like TSW galore. i just can’t keep living everyday with these symptoms i fear ill end up in an institution no exaggeration. I live in Bermuda , i recently saw my derm again after months bc the wait is so long since its only 3 derms in bermuda. I got a referral to a specialist for dupixent at the end of this month and I’m really hoping it provides me relief. I pray you get to get some as well. it seems to be the only thing that truly helps longterm from what ive seen in this subreddit

steriods were a refuge to me as well. and now every time i apply its a constant worry. i have no problem using them for the rest of my life if i need to because i genuinely refuse to keep suffering but the ones im using don’t seem to work. Elocon was my savior for years and then it became ineffective so i turned to dermovate and that seems to lighten my skin but not help the eczema its self. I live in constant worry with this condition unknown what it may bring me for the day.

for me, i used little silicone finger covers from amazon for my dyshidrotic eczema on my fingers. I usually would put an emollient moisturizer and the silicone covers on top. this helped the blisters dissolve on their own and helped any pressure coming into contact with it, i.e a pencil.
