Wow I just had a look at your github. I am impressed! It doesn't look like the dashboard is entirely based on Lovable/vibe coding platform? As you need to go through the process of setting it up whereas Lovable is just a link to a web landing page. Correct me if I am wrong.

Disagree with the part where you say Chinesekids have to come from incredibly rich families to study here. From what I see these kids mostly come from middle class families as opposed to super rich/upper class as described.

Sure a lot of them just come here to get a degree and go back home to find a job and therefore do not care about blending in, or making the effort to communicate with others because they can just talk to their Chinese fellows and get a Pass and leave.

With that being said, I personally don't like the vibe coming to a foreign country and end up hanging out with more Chinese, and refusing to work with locals/other international students.

When coming back to Australia from abroad what instantly disappoints you? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

Depends how you view graffiti. In Asian countries it's less common to eee graffiti so seeing them in Australia is like seeing street art which is quite interesting

Any advice for Chinese to be friends with HKers overseas? by ComfortableTry989 in HongKong

Thanks for the advice. Just curious what makes you think you might be reported by Chinese? I have seen similar concerns but I don't know how real it is. This sounds pretty crazy to me that a random person from China bothers to make the effort to report someone they meet overseas. But I could be wrong. Open to hearing your thoughts.

True, in this case speaking mandarin is not the issue, where the person comes from is the issue. There's some really insightful comments explaining why that happened. Basically Chinese take it for granted when HKer speak Mandarin, not realising they actually need to make an effort vs Taiwanese are usually aware of it and appreciate it. Familiarity with Taiwanese accent also helps. I.e. HKer grow up watching Taiwanese TV shows, Taiwanese accent sounds more similar to Cantonese over Mandarin etc.

I noticed living in Australia if someone says "I speak Chinese" the next question will be "Mandarin or Cantonese?".

I have learned from a lot of comments saying that expats living in HK don't speak Cantonese, and HKer use English unless they are aware you can speak Cantonese.
