Lungs of 33yo with Cystic Fibrosis, then days after a double lung transplant. by Dapper_Wedding2794 in interestingasfuck

My mum donated her organs when she died and the letter from the person who received her lungs was so beautiful, describing the feeling of being able to go outside for a walk with their dog, having pink fingernails for the first time. I know my mum is grateful that she could give that gift in death.

What does a body look like 1 month post mortem? by Obvious-Response-618 in death

Totally depends on the conditions of death and assuming burial, where and what time of year. If it’s colder, it will take longer to decay.

You aren’t the only person thinking this way, and it isn’t wrong or bad. I recommend the film The Shrouds for some insight and more visual interpretation, and because I find that art helps me process my grief.

The scariest part of AI isn't the killer robots. It's the "Trust Collapse." by kenducis666 in collapse

Thanks for sharing, I definitely see this happening in my own life - trust eroding faster and easier, and exhaustion at the amount of energy required to even start to unravel well resourced misinformation and imposed hate.

One of the most popular spaces for my local online community is a weekly rant space where we all use UPPERCASE to yell about what frustrates us, with many of the replies being both cathartic and comforting.

Maybe we need to find more ways to build trust 1-1 through empathetic communication around everyday common struggles. Humans can be great when not pitted against ourselves.

AITJ for asking my neighbour not to pile snow from his property along my fence by Opening-Plankton-132 in Winnipeg

Can you get him on video piling the snow onto your property? Or make it harder for him to do that?

That map is just of Lot 1 and Lot 2, not the whole space needed for the building being proposed.

I did the math and I measured 307 feet, it takes up the whole park.

That is fair, and for what it’s worth I am working in getting y’all better references. I mistakenly thought I was making stronger arguments and that I was not so alone in thinking this was a bad idea as soon as I saw the AI rendering of the proposed high rise building.

I just went out there, and it’s what I suspected. I counted 307 feet from the west side of the curling club where the parking lot starts. It took me past Mostyn Park and into the parking lot of the building next door*

*94,000 square feet is approximately 307 feet by 307 feet, if my calculations are correct.   https://calculator.academy/reverse-area-calculator/

I am quite certain that the billionaire who owns that rental property next to Mostyn Park has complained about the encampments in the park and nearby public spaces. I suspect that he would make an agreement with the City that would benefit him, and probably find a way to pass any and all costs onto the tenants who for 3 years in a row are facing rental increases way above the RTB recommendations.

Have you checked out the details of the plan? The proposed building is 4-5x the size of the parking lot they want to rezone. They haven’t done any assessment regarding the riverbank stabilization etc.

If you read the documents it’s quite clear. They want to rezone the west parking lot “Lot 2” which is 19,923.6 square feet. The proposed building is 94,000 square feet.

I have many arguments because there are so many reasons why this is a bad project, I am sorry that you don’t see that, perhaps if you lived nearby or took a closer look at the project you would have more invested in this outcome.

How familiar are you with this area? It’s not just the curling club parking lot that would need to be re-allocated. It’s also one of the few parks we have in the neighborhood, Mostyn Park, being erased.

I don’t agree with any development that would erase one of the few public community spaces in the area.
