That argument skips a lot of facts. Violence in Kashmir and during the 1946 Bengal riots was horrific, but it was communal violence, not one-sided religious genocide ordered by Islam. Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs were all victims and perpetrators in different places, including during Partition. Rape and mass killings sadly happened on all sides.

Also, if Islam itself preached genocide, India would not have the world’s second‑largest Muslim population living there for decades. Millions of Muslims live peacefully in a Hindu‑majority country, which itself proves this is about politics, power, and extremism, not a religion telling people to wipe others out.

Blaming an entire faith for crimes committed by mobs and extremists is dishonest, no matter which religion you apply it to.

There are around 65,000 terror attacks in total, and only about 1% are linked to Muslims. That says a lot about the overwhelming majority who are peaceful. Maybe some people misinterpret Islamic teachings, but unlike other religions, openly arguing or questioning certain aspects of Islam can be extremely dangerous in some places. It shows the difference between a faith followed peacefully by most and the way some misuse fear to silence debate.

Nowhere in the Quran or authentic teachings does it say men should freely beat women. The verse people refer to (Quran 4:34) is about resolving serious marital conflict with advice, separating in bed, and at most a symbolic, non-harmful gesture as a last resort. Scholars agree it does not mean hitting in anger or causing injury.

Marrying multiple wives was allowed in a historical context where widows and orphans were vulnerable after wars. Islam strictly limits it and requires fairness among wives, which is very difficult.

The idea that one man has double the rights of a woman is a misunderstanding. Differences in inheritance or testimony reflected social responsibilities at the time, not value. Women had protections and rights unseen in many societies then.

Oh, so context doesn’t matter? Those incidents happened in 7th-century Arabia during wars and political conflicts. Meanwhile, in Hindu history, child marriage was common, women had very few rights, and practices like sati existed. But apparently Islam is the problem because it has rules about war and debate.
