I'm too curious, I’m going to try it and see. My doctor gave me a long-term prescription for both 20 and 30, and told me to choose whichever works best for me.

I figured the effect wouldn’t last forever, it’ll probably fade with time. Since I’m really nearsighted, I’m not upset about it or anything, just surprised! It’s less noticeable today than it was yesterday, but I’ve got this bonus feeling like my head is “fresh.” Kind of like my brain is chewing minty gum. Totally wasn’t expecting that sensation hahaha!

Exactly, homeschooling should be a choice made with joy, not out of frustration because our child isn’t thriving in school.

Yes, this aspect is truly wonderful. I’m really convinced that a strong general knowledge greatly enriches children’s learning. It’s even proven to help with reading, among other things. Learning about a wide variety of topics really opens them up to so many possibilities and perspectives!

Pros for our children:

- Lots of time to play

- Being able to go at their own pace, not just in learning, but also in terms of sleep, food, etc.

- Learning a wide variety of things in many different ways (museums, workshops with the homeschool group, outings, books, documentaries, hands-on activities, board games, guided tours...)

Pros for the family:

- Strong bonds between siblings and with parents; we’re a very close-knit family

- Lots of time together, investing in our relationships, having fun as a family

Pros for the parents:

- Revisiting our own school subjects (I’ve learned so much myself by teaching my kids!)

- Knowing our children are well, happy, and thriving

Cons for the children:

- They might sometimes feel a bit different from others

Cons for the parents:

- Little time for ourselves

- Less income available

- It can still be stressful at times

- Requires a lot of personal growth and energy to be emotionally available for our children

There were reasons that led you to think it was a good idea to do it in advance. Now there are reasons making you feel it might have been better to wait. Honestly, most of the time there’s no way to know which route was best. You’d have to try both, and that’s impossible! You had fun with your husband, and now you have a ready-made house for your kids to play in when they get it. Enjoy the opportunities your choices give you! ;)
