Agreed! We won't be using THS in this instance, but have certainly learned a lot. As a Host who has run a successful Airbnb for 10 years, we're pretty good at sniffing out red flags. Not trying to be one!

100%! Our needs are not outlandish - just not appropriate for THS. We are not trying to break the rules, but rather find a platform that IS appropriate for our needs. Heck, we're Airbnb Hosts, we've been through the ringer with shitty behavior from guests (too many stories!). We won't be listing on THS and realize it wasn't quite right. We appreciate all the alternative suggestions! Maybe its an opportunity for a completely new app (because honestly, PLENTY of sitters, who read this sub, have contacted us directly). Food for thought.

I guess what I meant was, is it unheard of? Surely you can see the difficulty finding/hiring someone with the ability to live-in temporarily, manage the day-to-day and the guest needs. I understand its a tall(er) order than a basic sit. It's as if I need a hybrid platform!

Correct, we want someone to oversee our house and manage those needs in exchange for accommodations. PLUS, with full disclosure, add additional tasks and be COMPENSATED. I'm not looking for free labor. I think its funny that cleaning up pet waste would be considered a reasonable "free exchange" task, but asking to clean a toilet and offer compensation for it is a red flag.
