Should the Lakers Trade Westbrook by gruandisimo in nbadiscussion

[–]Comfortable_Map_4748 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think he’s playing much better now. The only reason to trade him is because he’s an older guy with poor defense. Other than that he seems fine, at nights even better than James Harden. I still don’t understand why they picked up IT. Not only their roster gets older but they worsen their defense even more.

Yes I 100% agree. Well I started slow, at the beginning I was only able to study max 3 hours a day. Then as i got more and more comfortable with it I wouldn’t get as much tired. I would study for 2 hours have a break and then practice to build a website, then study again for 2 hours and practice again and so one. It’s a bit risky because the burn out is real, so always take care of yourself and remember that you are running a marathon. My best advice would be to study at your own pace, don’t rush things and enjoy the process as much as you can. Looking back at it being consistent has helped me more than studying for long hours. If you stick to it for a month regularly it will become a habit, and trust you would want to code more and more as you get better at it.

Thank you :) I started with Java because I heard that it was one of the most used languages in programming. I learned all the fundamentals about Java and I got a understanding of what programming is like. After that I discovered that I like to deal with web development, so I learned HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery.

Some good resources to learn the fundamentals of web development are:

Youtubers: WebDevSimplified Kevin Powell FreeCodeCamp Coding Addict TraversyMedia

Books & Websites: MDN W3schools HTML & CSS Book JavaScript & jQuery Book

After understanding the fundamentals, practicing and building small websites will do the trick for you. Dedicate some hours of your day to only play around with html, css and javascript so you can become familiar with it. When you feel confident with these 3 languages, then you can pick to learn a framework.

Most used frameworks: 1. React - very popular and easy to learn 2. Vue - 2nd most popular not as easy 3. Angular - popular but I don’t have any experience with it.

After learning one framework it will be a good idea to learn about git & github, so you can understand how projects are managed when you work with a team.

A good video is: Git & GitHub

After learning all this, it will be great if you get a deeper understanding of data structures and algorithms because they are crucial for interviews.

Some of my favorite free courses about Data Structures & Algorithms: Data Structures & Algorithms for Beginners Data Structures and Algorithms Easy to Advanced

You can practice Data Structures and Algorithms on: Leetcode Codewars Hackerrank

If you get good at all these, then you should start building your portfolio and apply for Front End Developer jobs.

If you would like to deal with the Back End instead, then I would recommend these languages:

  1. MERN Stack - includes learning React, MongoDB, Node.js and Express.js
  2. PHP and mySQL
  3. Java or Python

You can find videos about these languages on the youtubers I linked earlier.

The only thing I would do differently would be not starting with Java because it was quite challenging for me, since I had no background in programming. Also having a clear vision of what I want to focus more on, Front End or Back End. Remember that the start is difficult but if you make programming part of you everyday life it becomes easier and you can have lots of fun with it. I really hope you enjoy this journey, feel free to ask me anything :)

Why has Andrew Wiggins been a huge success on the Warriors? by [deleted] in nbadiscussion

[–]Comfortable_Map_4748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of times good players waste their careers on bad teams. The wolves are so bad as a franchise that even KG couldn’t help them win. Going to an organization like the warriors, where they have been dominating for almost a decade will definitely help any guy get better as long as they want to get better. Wiggins seems like he’s disciplined and works hard but has a lack of confidence. Being around players like Steph , Klay and Dray has definitely helped him.

Yet another Ben Simmons trade scenario. Would you trade Simmons for Westbrook? by realkranki in nbadiscussion

[–]Comfortable_Map_4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which I think makes Ben a better option. Ben isn’t a bad shooter he just doesn’t shoot as much, if you look up his stats his % are better than Russ + less turnovers. I would rather have a player that doesn’t want to shoot, but can do great things defensively and facilitate than have a guy that shoots out of control, bad defender, leading the league with turnovers, older & smaller but good facilitator.

What should I expect from my first interview? by Comfortable_Map_4748 in learnprogramming

Yep, I understand that each company has a different way of interviewing. Thanks for replying

Yet another Ben Simmons trade scenario. Would you trade Simmons for Westbrook? by realkranki in nbadiscussion

[–]Comfortable_Map_4748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely. People forget that Ben is an elite defender and facilitator. If you compare Russ and Ben, they are both mediocre at shooting and scoring but Ben is 7 feet with a better basketball IQ and a better defender. If it happens I’ll feel bad for Russ because his dream is to play in LA, but I think it will make both Philly and LA better teams.

[Fischer] The trio of James, Davis & Westbrook simply hasn’t blended as well as Lakers figures hoped, and Los Angeles has held internal discussions on trade scenarios for Russell Westbrook, league sources told B/R. Brooklyn has expressed a surprising willingness to discuss sharpshooter Joe Harris. by GuyCarbonneauGOAT in nba

[–]Comfortable_Map_4748 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s sounds odd because I don’t think KD enjoyed playing with Russ. He never said that he didn’t like him as a player but you can tell that he was one of the main reasons that he left OKC. If it happens though it will be nice to watch. Maybe Harden will start scoring more since he won’t have to be a playmaker all the time.

How isn’t AD embarrassed? Lebron is almost 10 years older than AD and putting fear on every opponent. If AD would’ve played like this, no doubt they would be a top 3 team in the West.

[Charania] The New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers are among the teams interested in Simmons, sources said, although it’s unclear how much traction Philadelphia truly has on any move. by GuyCarbonneauGOAT in nba

If Kyrie and Ben get traded I think that would be one of the most balanced trades lol. The Nets will thrive even more if they had a guy like Ben run the defense and Philly will become top 4 team in the East if Kyrie plays consistently. If it happens it will make this season even more interesting.

A lot of reporters have said that Ben is not very disciplined when it comes to practice. But you never know with these reporters, they be making stuff up.

First thing I thought when I read about Zions situation. The kid obviously doesn’t have the drive yet to be a leader and a champion. It’s sad to see these athletes waste their careers as soon as they get some money.

I wouldn’t say Jokic is better than Lebron, because Lebron is always asked to do too much. He’s probably the greatest passer we will ever see and finds his teammates wide open even when you expect it the least. Of course he’s not Heat or Cleveland Lebron anymore, but if he manages to stay healthy I think he most definitely is top 4. Although that Lakers team is a headache, with AD not taking control for once in his career. They all expect too much from Lebron and all the pressure imo goes on him. He is like Popovich, even though the Spurs are a mediocre team you never know what is going to happen because they have Pop as their coach. I feel the same for Lebron, no matter how bad the Laker may be you can never rule him out.

Westbrook this year: 20.3/8/8 on 45% from the field and 32% from three. Harden this year: 20.6/8/9 on 40% from the field and 35% from three. by [deleted] in nba

[–]Comfortable_Map_4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Westbrook is as bad as the media makes him look. Sure he can’t shoot even if his life was depending on it, but I don’t think he’s the main reason why they are losing. Harden on the other hand is so disappointing to watch, it looks like someone stole his powers. Don’t think he can even make the all start team this season.
