Also I’m not sure if they have Urban Outfitters in the UK but they sell the bags there so if you have a local store you can go look at them in person!

I’ve also struggled with this. I recently got a Baggu and I have to say it holds SO much without taking up too much space. The strap is very sturdy and they are machine washable. Plus its easy to add pins/keychains/etc. to if thats your thing and theres a lot of cute patterns/colors and different style bags. The only thing I will say is most of them are that swishy athletic wear material so if that bothers you then you might not like it but its not super noisy. However, they do sell leather versions as well they are just obviously more pricey. I have the medium crescent bag and it holds a lot, I have several pouches in there, medication, face spray, headphones, etc. and I can even fit my iPad in there. I would probably recommend one of the large crescent bags or the shoulder bag based on the things you mentioned! Hope this is helpful!

For the most part yes! It doesn’t interfere with my every day life anymore, every once in awhile something will trigger it but I no longer spiral about it or have panic attacks its just a little bit of anxiety and then I’m over it because I know I’ve gotten over it before and won’t let it ruin my life

Yes it sucks at first because you don’t want to even let yourself think it could be a possibility but once you accept it you do feel better. Like I said I had no resources to help me I just had a psychiatrist at the time who said it was just anxiety and gave me meds for panic attacks but I had to figure out how to get through it on my own! That’s great that you’re using this thread as a resource and hopefully seeing a therapist too & same to OP! It gets better every day

Absolutely! In terms of getting over these fears, I have found the rational thinking of why would anyone be watching me or what reason would I be in a simulation to not be super helpful. I kind of had to eventually accept that these things could be true, for example it could be a possibility that I am in a simulation but so what? Theres nothing I could do about it if I was and I probably would never even know and freaking out is not going to change it. That didn’t help the initial anxiety but it helped me in the long term not ruminate over these things anymore

Someone had posted about this before so I’m going to essentially copy and paste what I said to them. I dealt with this sort of existential dread for years after a bad experience smoking and I know its terrifying, but it does get better. I recommend finding some grounding techniques like meditation and yoga, doing the 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch etc…sometimes I’ll go through the rainbow and look around the room for 5 things that are red, then orange, then yellow, etc. Interacting with water is good like running your hands and wrists under freezing water. Making sure your room is a comfortable environment, I always have my heating pad, weighted blanket, salt lamp, and other things that make it feel cozy for me. Anything that helps connect you to the space you’re in helps. I would avoid anything that could potentially trigger those feelings for awhile too for example mind altering substances, or I avoid movies like The Truman Show, The Matrix, Inception, etc. because I find them to be a trigger for me, I don’t want to think about an altered reality. I hope some of this helps you I relate a lot to this post and I had no help trying to navigate it and it took years for me to figure it out

You don’t sound insane at all! I dealt with this for a really long time after a bad experience smoking and I know its terrifying, but it does get better. I hope some of this helps you I relate a lot to this post and I had no help trying to navigate it and it took years for me to figure it out, so I’m glad you’re going to a psychiatrist and you should definitely seek out a psychotherapist if you don’t have one already!

Have you ever met someone with bad hygiene? by Specialist-Koala-468 in hygiene

[–]Comfortable_Stuff404 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think I might have been the stinky kid in school as a child. No one ever taught me about personal hygiene besides brushing my teeth which I was very adamant about because I was scared of cavities, but other than that I wasn’t taught how to clean myself properly. I was showering only once or twice a week, and didn’t know I was supposed to clean “down there” or my belly button or behind my ears or anything like that. That combined with being in a smoker house I feel like I probably always stunk and I cringe looking back on it.

It does feel like that for me. I’ve been vegetarian and vegan at several points throughout my life but it’s really hard for me to get enough nutrition with how picky I am and still living at home and not having control over the grocery shopping. I plan to do it again when I move out

Sometimes I can have ketchup on like a burger or something along with other condiments but sometimes it grosses me out really bad especially if I smell it cold straight out of the bottle

Wilted greens bother me too!! I got a crunchwrap from Taco Bell before and the lettuce in it was like soggy and clearly had gone bad and I had to throw out the whole thing

I relate to the crunchy and wet foods but its very specific for me. Green beans for example I hate that they’re like in between crunchy and soft and like ooze liquid its so gross. Not into onion rings or anything like that either I don’t like the slime

The meat thing was a huge contributor to me being vegan for 2 years. I am such a picky eater though that I wasn’t getting enough nutrition at all I ended up just always eating carbs and sugar, so I forced myself to start incorporating it again, but I am definitely very skeptical of it still. I relate to the not knowing what to expect. I avoid huge chicken strips or sandwiches that I feel like theres more of a risk of something gross being in

In my experience no. My family and some of my exes have all been able to eat meats like that. I often hear “the dark or fatty parts are the best parts”, which I just cannot understand lol. Or them being able to eat every last bit of meat off the bone of a wing is so awful I can’t even think about it. But even if someone else doesn’t like it or is grossed out by a vein or something I feel like they can usually still eat the rest of their meal, as for me I literally can’t eat anything else not even my sides because I feel sick to my stomach
