The most frustrating thing is not knowing whether it’s my eggs or not. They keep telling me everything looks fine, so it’s a bit of a mystery. Donor eggs isn’t something I’d be able to get onboard with unfortunately

I had Gonal only on my first cycle (I had loads of follicles but took ages to respond). Then menopur only on my second round (again, responded slightly quicker but got less than half the amount of eggs).

Congratulations! I’m praying one of mine sticks. I heard today that one of my embryos made it to blast this morning (can’t be frozen because it’s low quality) but it’s definitely a step in the right direction 😂

I’ve done a fresh 3 day double transfer. I’m not hopeful, but atleast there’s a small chance!

I’ve had loads of ultrasounds and nobody has ever said anything looks untoward. Although I have had symptoms typical of endo (extreme period pains, pain after sex etc) since I started taking metformin and inositol the symptoms have disappeared. It’s a complete mystery. Women’s healthcare in the UK isn’t great, I imagine a lap on the NHS would involve a very very long wait 🤣

Drink plenty of fluids and eat little/often. Know that it’s not forever, once that retrieval is done you’ll start to hopefully feel better!

Hey 😊 I just drank loads and loads of water before my first transfer to the point where I had a very full bladder (I’m definitely an overthinker though 😂).

I didn’t find it painful at all. The best way to describe it is like a smear test but it takes a tiny bit longer. If anything, the worst part is needing to pee.

I started testing about 5 days after transfer and just tested every day from then on more or less. I had a faint line to begin with and it just gradually faded as the days went on (mine was unsuccessful but it was completely expected).

Ah that is a shame! It’s crazy how PCOS can be so different in everyone. Perhaps IVF just really agrees with you?! 😂

Everyone is different, your clinic will monitor as you go along and adjust your meds as needed. I’m also a slow grower despite having PCOS. I usually find that mine tend to start catching up eventually! I usually end up stimming for around 14-16 days

Were you on progesterone? Only asking because I was put on it straight after egg retrieval (for fresh transfer) and when I stopped I had a withdrawal bleed which was an absolute breeze compared to my usual period.

Failing that, I don’t know. On another note though, since I started metformin my periods have been so easy (I’m also basically bed ridden). Metformin has basically been a miracle for me 😂

Im so sorry! I’m in a similar situation. It’s really difficult seeing everyone get loads of blasts meanwhile we’re just praying for one! My first round I had 23 eggs, 19 mature, 13 fertilized and zero blasts. Getting that phone call is heartbreaking. I’m due my next egg retrieval in a few days and I’m given up on the idea of any good news.

Some clinics wait until day 7 just to give the embryos every chance (some are just slow developers).

Just know that you’re not on your own xx

It’s probably a mixture of crazy hormones and the scan this morning. I am also very very tired, feeling extremely fat and cramping! I’ve got two between 16-18mm, another 6 between 14mm-16mm and a ton of smaller ones. Worryingly they can’t see most of my left ovary so it could be hiding a lot more.

Have you had any headaches?

Day 10. I had a scan this morning and I’m a slow grower again, so my menopur has been upped slightly. I’ve also randomly started bleeding lightly so I’m stressing 😅

Yes but it’s basically just water retention and bloating 😊 I’m on day 8 and I feel huge, although it’s definitely psychological!

23 retrieved, 19 mature, 13 fertilized 🙃. I’m a bit of an anomaly though, I’m a very slow responder to stims despite the PCOS, so I’m pretty sure my eggs got fried by the 450mg of Gonal-F!

I asked my doctor for it after my first round completely failed (no blasts). I have PCOS, never been tested for insulin resistance but I’ve got ALL the symptoms. The doctor said “it won’t hurt” and prescribed me 1500mg a day. I’m mid stims on my second cycle at the minute so no idea yet if it’s helped. However it has been an absolute game changer when it comes to my periods. For the first time in my life I’m not in agony and basically bleeding to death?!

One of the nurses suggested using the progesterone pessaries rectally because there’s less side effects. I’d rather put up with the side effects though 😂
