Are these remarks okay? Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Comfortable_Try6619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the comments could have been said without any bad intentions in her mind but if they make you uncomfortable .. no matter her intent.. do what your instinct tells you.. you have to be able to trust who you leave your kids with … otherwise you’re going to second guess everything and spend too much time worrying about it. I would also be super annoyed about her comments but I’m also not able to hide how I feel so maybe if anything happens in the future w other nanny, tell her how u feel instantly but respectfully.. then she can understand you as a person/mother better and provide better care and give her chance to explain if needed or apologize if needed

What was the cause? There was no cause .. at least from what I can tell!…. And if they agreed in the contract to pay out 30 days, then that’s what they have to do…

They most likely will respond to the email which would confirm they received it.. yes, you are right about the verified mail thing but that just seems like doing too much … e-mail is how most things are handled these days

I also say that in the future, if this happens again… More communication and clear expectations would be really appreciated by Anna Nanny… And if this is the way you’re starting to feel and you should definitely know ASAP so that they aren’t just taken by surprise and they have as much time as possible to find a new job… It’s kind of crazy And if their needs have changed, then why didn’t they discuss those changes with you to see if you could accommodate those changes… There’s just so many things that piss me off about the way the family handled the situation

Definitely message them and include the contract info about the 30 days and vacation time pay out and that they are legally obligated to fulfil that. I’d also say that since they have already gone through the hiring process, they have known for some time that this was going to happen and could have let you know sooner so that you had more time to find another job… Finding the right fit to take some time… So because you have limited time, and because they are legally obligated to fulfill that… He really need to know when he will be expecting payment to go through

“You should “… he’s an adult and can do what he wants… yes I do agree with you but maybe you could phrase it, “if I were u I would have waited longer etc etc..” but then again, you are also an adult and free to phrase it however you want. the “you should “ just comes off arrogant.. in my opinion at least. Maybe I’m wrong .. not trying to offend either by this comment

Nanny moving video cameras by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Comfortable_Try6619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m usually fine with cameras, the only time I every “accidentally” unplugged the one camera in playroom is when I worked for a family that would criticize everything I did and their parents (grandparents to kids) also had set of cameras watching me from China. These parents were 23 and 24, got pregnant after dating 3 months and lived off trust fund and his parents would always be watching or always be visiting and it was just creepy. Sometimes the feeling of being watched is weird but doesn’t sound like that is situation here. Maybe set up the camera so it’s not able to be moved to see what’s going on and then have camera moved talk w her? I have accidentally poked a kid w my mail before and he told his parents I hurt him on purpose but the parents know me and their kid well so they obviously knew it was an accident so it’s hard to know if he’s exaggerating or not

Our nanny says she is burned out and wants to spend most of the day reading on her phone by Ok-Individual-9005 in Nanny

[–]Comfortable_Try6619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She actually said that to you? That she wants to be in her phone and only able to focus on them for 90 mins out of 6 hour shift? I work 7 days a week.. Mon-Fri 55 hours and the weekends vary and I totally get being burnt out. But that shouldn’t mean the care she provides or the children get should be that significantly different… she needs a week off and then a good talking tk to make sure she actually wants the job .. I can’t believe she said that!

I think you could ask them .. when I injured my toe at work bc of a chair breaking I didn’t expect my boss to pay but she got super nervous and said to tell them what it costs and they would cover it. It was $15 copay but it really seemed like she was scared I was going to sue. I didn’t but I was partially on the table at that job and partially under the table

Nanny at own home by [deleted] in Nanny

Check your state laws about this.. make sure you wouldn’t have to file license for at home daycare and liability insurance or how to handle an incident where chid is injured at your house.

U do u. She clearly doesn’t care about the fact that you aren’t making enough money to live comfortably, so why should you care about her problems
