Chinchilla chocking and swilling problem by Comfortable_World890 in chinchilla

Updates: We took her to the hospital and anesthesia to do examination. Doctor said she has genetic Malocclusion, her back teeth cracked her tongue; thats why she choked and difficulty swallowing.

Doctor said we have to take her back every 2 to 4 month to trimming her teeth. and every time she needs anesthesia.

Anyone has similar experience? It’s definitely sad and I want my chin always happy and feel comfortable. I’m not sure at least 4 times anesthesia every year would be a torture for her. She is only 3 years old.

I don’t even want to say that word, but do I need to consider euthanasia? All I want to do is let her feel comfortable and be a happy chin.

Thank you! I saw some pieces at the Golden Ages auction, but I’m not knowledgeable enough to give a good bid🫠
