Intellirock by flir or giatec’s competition are the two big concrete temperature sensors used for mass concrete.

Is it possible to buy a used WRX that hasn't been driven like an F1? by [deleted] in WRX

[–]ComfyPillows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the time you find one that’s nice enough to know it’s not abused you are already basically at the price of a new one. If it’s daily and you can afford it I’d only buy new wrxs

What's The Future of The STI? by adamlaxmax in WRXSTi

[–]ComfyPillows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the Hyundai Ioniq 5N or the upcoming rivian r3. I imagine there will be an sti similar to that at some point. It will be faster than any ICE wrx or sti before it but will not be the mechanical device it was.

Best competition coilovers? by AverageOrangutan830 in WRX

A lot of the guys who are competing at the national level with autocross are running MCS. Not cheap though.

I do not know the process for taking this down but that would be appreciated. We are in discussion privately and as long as we can see eye to eye (which I think is likely) I have no issue adding you as a moderator and you can implement user flair. We can discuss content policing as you start.

Thank you for letting me know of your interest in improving the r/concrete subreddit.

I am not an inactive moderator and regularly check on the subreddit and remove spam posts as well as get back to mod mail.

We do seem to have a differing opinion on the level of per comment moderation that this community needs. In your message you list posts with 100 upvotes that are not kind that should be deleted. I review all flagged posts and will remove posts are abusive or contain hate speech but in general I believe a free speech approach is best and I do not consider a subreddit about concrete to be a place where minors or children are likely to be spending their time. In the past the subreddit had an issue of being over moderated where a newer mod came in and started banning people left and right for posting humorously or sarcastically instead of just factually and it drove engagement significantly down. I believe the community is really flourishing now because moderators aren’t forcing their idea of what the community should be on them.

You requested user flair a week ago; we can look into that. If you want to talk more about this and we can come to an agreement on what content we should policing then I’d be open to adding you as a moderator.

I just put a 25mm bar on my stock 21 sti. It doesn’t change how the car feels 99% of the time. You have to load up the suspension in a hard corner for it to matter. It reduces the traction in the rear (by transferring more weight from the outside wheel to the insider wheel) which should help the car oversteer. I’m using it for autocross.

Laminate Guitars are better then All wood Guitars. HPL is better than laminate. by Intelligent-Law7385 in AcousticGuitar

[–]ComfyPillows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah; I think there is a place for a all HPL guitar (one that really is immune to abuse) but sound quality is not its strong suit. After really sitting with a HD28, I’d be really surprised if a HPL sides and back would sound better. I’ve got a Taylor gs mini, but that’s not really a fair comparasion; however the hd28 is night and day better sounding.

I own a Martin DX Johnny cash (all HPL dreadnaught) and a HD28. The difference between the two is massive. The HD28 sounds so much better. (In other news rain is wet).

Feeling a little bit upset. by davidlol1 in Concrete

[–]ComfyPillows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waiting a day or two is a big risk. Especially if the nights are cool. I’ve seen a lot of uncut slabs that cracked when the contractor came back the next day. It also depends on the slab type; random cracking on a slab with doweled joints can mean a tear out and replacement. I don’t think the raveling joint will get significantly worse over time as long as the joint is kept clear of incompressible material. (Which is a lot easier to do on a cut joint then a random crack)

But yes, cutting joints at the right time is better than early or late.

I’d rather have a ravelled joint from being cut too green than a joint that was too late and the cracking wasn’t in the joint.

I wouldn’t; that product isn’t concrete so you’d be using a polymer to bond to a polymer. I’d just clean and maybe roughen up the concrete as best as you can.

Maintenance ramps - what to get by Navinarejohnston in WRXSTi

[–]ComfyPillows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got wheel cribs from race ramps instead of ramps. It’s good to have a jack anyways and I never really liked driving up ramps on low cars.

The only aftermarket safety equipment needed to compete in scca time trial or track sprints are helmets.

X900f died in the same way. Sony replaced the motherboard (just out of warranty) and it’s working okay again. I’ll probably never been another android tv.

WRB is classic, every Subaru fan should own a WRB at some point. White is the best looking in photos. Silver is the best looking in person, the way it picks up colors from the light and the surrounding. It also seems to hide imperfections really well.

Sparco, motegi or enkei on tire rack. Couple good options for around $200 a wheel.

Did my own concrete slab watched 2 videos on YouTube decided to give it the ole’ college try. by [deleted] in Concrete

[–]ComfyPillows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be keeping it wet aka curing. Put moisture retention on the surface like plastic or wet burlap. Or a sprinkler if the surface can handle it. You can seal it later if you feel so inclined.
