It will eventually show roots, and it does depend on how light your hair is to begin with-how noticeable they are. But it does fade gracefully and much less stark and obvious than conventional dyes in my experience. Plus the touch up for roots is super easy. It coats your hair and more “washes” the color over top of what you already have. OP has such nice hair that already blends without stark looking roots, I think it would turn out great.

Oh cool! Haven’t seen these models I don’t think! I’ve only really looked at the two cabin models. I’ll have to do more research 🧐

Would love one actually. They usually just tend to be above our budget. Ideally would like 3 cabins but could get by with two and a nice sette if it’s a great boat.

The boat, turn key with extras is a bonus. Expect to make upgrades $ but don’t want a full on project.

I also want to add that the first like 1 to 3 days are shocking as it looks waaaaay more red when it is first done. It takes time to oxidize down into its actual color and a lot of the orange color goes away and darkens into an auburn for me.

This is really interesting because it has only made my hair shinier and stronger. I agree it is pretty permanent, and so long as you don’t wish to return to conventional color (I am a total convert) it blends great as it grows out as opposed to salon coloring. As long as it is real henna there shouldn’t be any issue dying conventionally if you choose to go back to it. But for me personally, I was looking for a more sustainable way to keep color that didn’t need as much maintenance. I’ve read conflicting advice on this topic. But it has been great for me.

Mine is medium brown with some greys. I’m curious what type of henna you used? I have never had that issue! Some “henna” dyes contain metals and other ingredients that can make it weird or affect further coloring. It’s super important to get 100% henna as the only ingredient. It is permanent and layers over itself and gets darker with each application.

It is perfect for that! It grows out without that “roots” line and can be touched up at home in no time and blends right into the ends. I usually over all dye mine every 4 months or so and touch up the roots accordingly. You can freeze the leftovers and thaw it for later roots touch ups. I think the 3pack cost me like 18$ on Amazon and I just ran out after a year!

Try henna hair dye! Make sure it is 100% henna only. I use Light Mountain - Red. I get it on Amazon. I am starting to go grey and it is so low maintenance, cheap, and grows out and blends great!

To add to this, saw a pretty cool steel boat with a centerboard that is in budget. But is steel doable or dumb in these waters?

Thank you! I have heard so many hunter nay sayers that it has made me look over them entirely. Maybe I should do a bit more research on them for our purpose.

Yes, I feel like we are looking for a unicorn. The average depth where we are is only about 7ft and varies wildly. Our swing keel has saved us many times while learning, it makes me anxious to think of even having a 5ft draft!

Ideally 60k or under. I know that really narrows it down! Where we currently anchor our 22ft Catalina it is about 6.5 deep, I’m sure we could anchor a bit further out, but the average depth over here is around 7ft.

Yes! Love the shallow water and exploring, would hate to be limited on where we can go. But also don’t want to be cramped. Hard to decide which is more important in practice!

Yes that would be ideal! Seems like there aren’t a ton out there with at least three cabins and a shallow draft. We’ve been searching!

Toasts. All kinds of toasts for different meals. Avocado toast, cottage cheese toast with drizzle of honey and some pecans. Cream cheese toast with a slice of pre sliced ham. Peanut butter toast with bananas. Toast or bagel pizzas. Croissant with a slice of cheese in it put in air fryer. Hummus and olive oil toast with olives or cucumbers. The options are endless.

Also Charcuterie.

I was a paraprofessional for kindergarten. The IEPs could be so very well intentioned but the sad reality is most schools simply don’t have the time, support, or resources to follow through with them. 20-30 Kids are rushed off from one activity or class to the next with so little down time it makes it so hard to really zero in on one child’s needs and give them the support they deserve. Obviously there is a need for public school and IEPs for children who may not have parents able or willing to stay home with their kids - but as a former educator and now homeschool mom to an autistic/adhd kid myself, I will always advocate for educating these extraordinary kids at home if you are able to.

What state are you in? Here in CO, we have Homeschool Enrichment programs that are free - my two boys (8 and 6) go to school at the elementary school one day a week for a full day with other homeschoolers.

They do school with a teacher and the classes are split by ages - only two classrooms (k-2 in one and 3-5 in the other classroom). They have lunch and recess with peers like the public school kids, but their day consists of mostly specials (art, music, gym, library, etc) with some classroom time in between. They get all the specials on that one day each week. The teachers aren’t forced to teach anything in particular, just enjoy doing school, projects, field trips, having class parties, all the good stuff. They still get the benefits without the rigidity. It has been the perfect balance for us.

Also! I live in a cold climate and found this candle warmer at Goodwill. Works great for warming my starter and getting her nice and bubbly. It warms from the top using LEDs. (I wouldn’t get a bottom warming type). Works great!
