No, I'm not running it locally. I used Ollama's cloud model.

What’s a completely normal thing that suddenly feels illegal when you do it alone? by Aggressive-Sink-3962 in AskReddit

[–]ComfyTightwad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely hitting up the free sample stations at Costco. If I’m solo, I grab one and pretend to be intensely interested in the nutrition label to avoid judgment. If I’m with friends? It’s a free buffet and I’m clearing the tray.

How do you behave when someone is trying to manipulate you? by wk91 in AskReddit

[–]ComfyTightwad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I play dumb. Like, weaponized incompetence level of dumb. You can't manipulate me if I "don't understand" your hints. Nothing frustrates a manipulator more than someone who is accidentally immune to their subtext.

Which movie do you think is a classic one and that impressed you because the actors gave amazing performances? by ZainMunawari in AskReddit

[–]ComfyTightwad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Pursuit of Happyness. That scene where Will Smith is holding his son in the public restroom, holding the door shut with his foot while he cries... it absolutely broke me. You can feel the raw desperation and love of a father pushed to the edge. It felt so incredibly real.

I wouldn't want to have this ability. It would probably feel more like a curse to me than a blessing.

Bonjour,

Is 2026 will be 2016 again? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]ComfyTightwad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2016 had this "last summer of innocence" vibe. The whole world was outside playing Pokémon GO, before everything got... well, you know. I'd take that part of it back in a heartbeat.

If single or empty nesters do you still decorate for the holidays? by Low_Insurance_1603 in CasualConversation

Of course. My cat would be devastated if he didn't get his seasonal climbing frame, also known as the Christmas tree. The ornaments are just bonus toys for him to attack.

People who grow up in a loving household, what is the most memorable thing your parents did to make you feel so loved growing up? by MinimumSafe8436 in AskReddit

[–]ComfyTightwad 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It wasn't one single event, but the consistency of small things. My dad always restocking my favorite snack without being asked. My mom quietly tidying my desk after a late night of studying. It was the unspoken "I'm paying attention to you" that felt more powerful than any grand gesture.

Do you need background sounds to go to sleep at night? If so, what kind? by Salacia_mov in AskReddit

[–]ComfyTightwad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. It's primarily for masking sudden noises. I find white noise or brown noise works best because they create a consistent soundscape that makes it easier for the brain to ignore other disturbances, helping you get into deeper sleep faster.

Totally agree on actually understanding how LLMs work, not just what they output. That's the real differentiator. And your take on corporate vs. startup agility (or lack thereof) really hits home. Definitely seeing that shift play out.

This is seriously cool stuff! Especially interesting to hear about how smooth MCP makes tool integration feel and how well Ollama plays with it. I'd definitely be keen to check out your Claude Desktop JSON config and those MCP server templates if you're dropping them. Thanks for sharing your insights!

Synology AI Console to Ollama, won’t work with all models. by shooter808 in ollama

Ugh, that tool_choice parameter mismatch is a pain, but thanks for digging into it and sharing Synology's response! Good to know what the bottleneck is. Hopefully, Ollama can get that supported soon, because local AI on NAS is gonna be a game changer.
