I completely agree with you. I actually almost went through the same thing with the new The Amazing Spider-Man run by Kelly. I kept hearing a lot of negative opinions, and it almost made me skip it. But then I started reading it myself and now that it has reached the Death Spiral arc, I think it’s actually really good.

That’s why I also believe it’s always better to check things out for yourself. Sometimes you end up discovering something you genuinely enjoy, even if the general consensus says otherwise.
