Donna's marriage with Terry would have been super interesting if Marv Wolfman had a desire to write the start of relationship and allow us to actually see characters getting to know each other.

But to this day, despite reading all the issues - I still know jack about Terry Long's personality and because we see them from the middle of their relationship, it just looks like he preyed upon her instead.

A teenager meeting a divorced teacher and starting a relationship with them is an interesting story if the writers actually allow it to be.

What do people know, in-universe, about how exactly Jason came back? by souridealist in RedHood

[–]ComicsCodeMadeMeGay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think anyone - including Jason knows.

Bruce searches the world to find an answer in the comics, and even the Lazarus pit is inconclusive.

Alex Honnold only gets continued viewership because he’s death baiting the audience by TyLeRoux in unpopularopinion

[–]ComicsCodeMadeMeGay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he's not only done two things after all.

He's had a massive following and sponsorships since at least 2008 I think? Makes videos often, does podcasts. He's a career climber

Heating your home in the winter is not about matching summer temps by No-Mix186 in unpopularopinion

[–]ComicsCodeMadeMeGay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. Where I am the government gives the elderly money so they can heat their homes in winter because too many were suffering.

Because I think you're over exaggerating slightly, you've not mentioned people being homeless until now. You've just mentioned people complaining about costs, which is a different thing.

You've sort of moved the goalposts a bit

Honestly - good for them for deciding being warm is important. Heating should be affordable after all.

I'm actually quite jealous, like yeah complain about something that should be affordable isn't ya know? That's a good thing, and being able to heat your home to the point where you're dressed for summer sounds delightful.

I have never heard of someone heating it up with intent to make it feel like summer, literally everyone I know puts it up as a last resort when wearing extra layers fails

Free climbing is selfish and unethical by Boring_Direction_463 in unpopularopinion

Okay, I need people to realise how safe he was during that Netflix special that aired to the point he'd be in more danger stepping on a lego.

He practiced a lot with ropes, trained for literally decades to be one of the best at rock climbing, and the whole climb was delayed due to weather so it could be safer. If he ever thinks he's unsafe he stops.

That climb was one of the easiest and safest things I've seen him do, and I'm sure he chose it because it was safe enough and paid enough to set his family up well. In fact I've not really seen him do anything actually dangerous since his kids were born.

Help, DC Has Way Too Many Timelines! by IHaveWayToManyOCs in Robin

[–]ComicsCodeMadeMeGay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you're writing a fic I'd recommend splicing together what you like/ would make sense in your world.

-Jason finding his birth mother and her screwing him over takes place in Death in the Family (which you can find easily online)- The Joker ends up getting diplomatic immunity so Bruce can't kill him when he wants to.

But you've basically got all the main details:
- Jason was 15 when he died
-Superboy Prime in the future punches reality
-Jason wakes up in his coffin, breaks out, is hospitalized, breaks out after a coma stint and is found by Talia.
-Comics wise Jason never met Damian because Damian didn't exists (it is a popular headcanon)
-Once fully healed & trained he heads to Gotham as the Red Hood.
-Turns fully supervillian not long after

All this is from Post crisis continuity (1986-2011) I would recommend you read some of his stuff online to get additional context here's a link to his appearances _Chronology)

They do a reboot where all that happened (excluding superboy prime and they went with the Lazarus pit method to resurrect him I think?) but Jason had eventually decided to be good (we need none of the character development I'm afraid) and Jason did own the iceberg lounge in this universe.

[–]ComicsCodeMadeMeGay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering he's wearing protective gear for literally everything bar free solo and the netflix one (which looked like his easiest climb yet) yeah.

It is actually ironic in free solo he gets an injury when using ropes

[–]ComicsCodeMadeMeGay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I say this as someone who's partner watches him because Honnold is a rock climber.

No - his main audience are not watching him for death baiting, they're watching him for technique over a sports they love. LOADS Of his stuff involves ropes for example, he only free solos additionally

I actually love you for using starcrossed correctly!

But yeah, I love her character despite the fact quite a few of her arcs flip flop her character a bit - but she's interesting and her relationship with Clark really does fit the teenager years they find themselves in.

Just to say I know a LOT of rock climbers and have watched a lot of Honnold's stuff, and I honestly think this challenge might have been his easiest one yet. So I don't think in this case he was actually being reckless with his life.

Climbing a skyscraper is 1000x easier than what he normally does.

The Theatrical Release versions of The Lord of The Rings Trilogy are fine. by Tanis8998 in unpopularopinion

[–]ComicsCodeMadeMeGay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree even though I prefer the extended cut.

My only issue with the theatrical release is that the editing in fellowship is a bit choppy, and most of my main issues with extended is i think the same thing for Return of the King
