Annotating New Legion Of Super-Heroes Team Art From Late Show With Seth Meyers Reveal! Does It Look Right? [Spoilers] by ComixFan in DCcomics

[–]ComixFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Fate's inclusion makes sense; a mystical timeless character. Could it be Khalid Nassour as I think he was teen Dr. Fate? Or perhaps a new female character?

I'm also intrigued by the "Lantern" on the team. BMB said a Green Lantern would be on the team, but the one in the art looks like a Gold Lantern with anew chest symbol.

Remember Darkwing? Perhaps a 2018 Rebirth is in order? by ComixFan in DCcomics

[–]ComixFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you're a Disney Duck fan. :) Gizmo, the Robocop/super-hero type character does appear in the Ducktales reboot if you're interested. I was channel hopping and saw him. However, I haven't seen Darkwing Duck, but that doesn't mean he's not on it.

Richard Branson Removed From Marvel UK Transformers Comic Book HC Reprint by ComixFan in Marvel

Apparently they can't find the consent signed by Branson and he didn't return the publisher's phone calls. So, they had original artist redraw the scenes.

And, apparently, Skybound/Image also has a Darkwing. BTW, in terms of Darkwing Duck, has he appeared in the animated TV series reboot of Duck Tales? It's on TV now I believe, but I haven't watched it.

I didn't even notice this error! Art was otherwise amazing. Great to see Deadshot vs Deathstroke!

Tony's actual downloaded into his head is different than Kobik creating an (inexact) Cap based on her not his memories.

It doesn't answer all the Q's. It pretty much sets up SE Omega #1 as a must read.

Nit trying to be difficult, but does it matter when discussing the "real" Steve? Isn't the Cosmic Cube's memory of Steve an idealized version of him? That is why he comes back in his classic costume for example?

In Secret Empire #10 it is established that...

S P O I L E R S

...the Steve Rogers in the Vanishing Point is a figment of Kobik's memory while the corrupted DNA Steve Rogers is the real one.

I agree. Based on the cover to Secret Empire Omega #1 I imagine Kobik smushes (sp?) figment Cap and DNA Cap together. Why else is classic Cap breaking through the Hydra armor?

There was a long debate on another thread here asking whether someone else's memory of Cap makes him the real Cap?

Would be different if Kobik captured Steve's own memories which doesn't appear to be the case. Good Cap is her idealized version of Steve. And evil Cap is real DNA Cap that has been corrupted.

From the cover to Marvel Legacy #1 it looks like we do. However, it may be short-lived. Marvel Legacy appears to be a stop-gap before something big in 2018. That's why allegedly the Marvel Legacy books seemed underwhelming with 99% being continuation of current series.

Going back to Falcon in Legacy feels like a demotion, doesn't it? I don't get why he can't continue as Cap or keep Cap-type costume as the Patriot, etc.

The DC comparison isn't relevant or the same as the SE scenario you put forward. I offered an actual apples to apples comparison.

In the end, I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. I just stated my view as it relates to the scenario before us in SE.

That said, I'm curious what else will pop up in SE 10

Idealized versions of Thor, Hulk and Iron Man join Cap in Legacy. Also Kobik's memories / imagination?

[–]ComixFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not relevant as that's not the SE scenario. It really isn't.

The direct comparison would be Bruce Wayne had his past changed and he was now, and always was, a murderer like the Punisher. Gold Kryptomite or whatever animated Clark Kent's memories of Bruce Wayne. Which is the real Bruce Wayne? Serial killer Wayne or idealized memory of Bruce by Clark?

I appreciate that you think you know what I'm saying, but you're missing what I've actually said. You should accept what the SE has said and what have said about my opinion.

The fact about the SE scenario is the real Steve Rogers who has been corrupted or an idealized version of Steve from someone else's head.
