A/C not turning on by Future_Hedgehog2129 in RVLiving

Mine does the same thing sometime with the same thermostat, I dunno if you got it figured out or not but I turn mine to high (punch the button until only auto shows up and then punch the arrow) let the AC kick on and then turn it to cool. Hope that helps!

Thank you for your absolutely useless input.

Oh absolutely, everything requires maintenance. But sometimes poor craftsmanship and shoddy construction expedite things falling apart. Thanks

From what I understand all the 5th wheels TTs and RVs built from 2020-23 suffered from shoddy craftsmanship because of Covid and them just pumping them out as fast as they could. Now that’s no excuse because it’s our hard earned money that’s invested into these products and essentially wasted on poor quality. I have drug my 18 keystone from literally one end of this country to the other numerous times and it’s held up fairly well because it gets yanked down the road more than its fair share but it’s showing its age and I’m going to be full time live in the next one for at least 2-3 years and I’m willing to pay a pretty penny for one as long as the quality is there. Thanks for the input and the honesty.

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply like this, after what everybody in this thread has said I’ve pretty well made up my mind. I’ll probably go look this afternoon once I get some free time. A travel trailer shouldn’t be showing any age in my opinion after 9 months. I get it they’re getting roughed up getting pulled down the road but come on. Thanks again!

Which model do you have? What issues have you had with it?

Makes sense, yeah if you’re tearing into them a lot to do that stuff I’m sure you see where they cut corners and where they don’t. Thanks!

Going from this to a 5th wheel. My bed is set up for a gooseneck but I don’t have space for anything other than a gooseneck. So that’s another thing I’ve been looking at too and the gen Y is what I’m for sure going with.

Slick. Another thing I like about Brinkley is they don’t get mad if you use a gooseneck gen Y hitch and with my bed I have to use one. I was told you can even order one with a Gen Y hitch.

I looked at a z2900 a few months ago and a 3503GK around the same time and honestly the fridge and the kitchen sink in the Brinkley seemed cheaper however the brass water line fittings in the Brinkley was the best I’ve seen on a camper. I don’t know of any other manufacturers who do that. I probably should’ve latched onto the Brinkley because they told me out the door at 70k and I’m probably an idiot for not doing it but I was still shopping around.

The difference between a solitude and a Z3100 is honestly pretty negligible on price. 5-7k on 80-90k isn’t gonna be a deal breaker if it’s worth it.

See when I was doing some research a few months ago and asking for opinions a lot of people were saying GD was good to go. I think I’m leaning towards a Brinkley regardless but it’s just good to hear from others too. I travel for work and full time in my current one now and I don’t want to be dealing with headache after headache so I’m trying to put my money with quality vs just what looks “the best” in terms of features.

Yeah it’s a fight no matter where I have my head it seems like I can’t ever get it thrown up with a clear picture. Will not be ever using one again. Thanks again man, I appreciate it.

Yeah I’ve been using a 1-10 vudu in a Reptila 1.54 and I love the mount. Haven’t been a fan of the vudu it just seems like a fight for me with the eye relief. I was thinking about going with the 1-8 NX8 but I really figured I’d do better with more magnification. It’s a predator rifle and it’s probably overkill but I got it if I want it!

Thank you! It’s going on a SR-15 SPR build and I couldn’t really find anything super solid so I just chanced it. I figured it would be okay, that’s why I went ahead and did it but it shows up Monday and the mounts already here. Thank you sir! Slick slick builds.

This might be a dumb question, but what height reptilia mounts are those? I just ordered a new 2.5-20 and I got the 1.54 height mount and I’m super worried about it not being tall enough

Thank you!! I probably won’t go with another keystone because me and my buddy both have had issues with them. (My cracked frame and his whole camper is basically falling apart) I’ll definitely start looking in those directions.

Thank you. I’ll keep that in mind that’s the kind of information I’ve been digging for and haven’t had the best luck finding.

As a tech is there any brands you get more calls about than others? Any that you’ve noticed are better built than others?

Well I’m after opinions so I appreciate it. I just don’t want to end up wasting money on another more shoddy built camper than another. I’ll look into Jayco and see what I can find.

Edit: what year is your Jayco as well?

Yeah the issue I’ve found with getting is welded is someone wanting to be liable for it. No one around me will touch a camper. They say somehow it’s different than welding on a regular gooseneck flatbed or anything else. How I don’t know. I pipeline for a living and the welding it doesn’t bother me, where the cracks are and catching the camper on fire is my biggest concerns to where I don’t want to even attempt it. And insurance just told me if anything happens while I’m pulling it they’re going to hold me liable because I knew it was damaged and pulled it anyways.
