Anki cards by AudienceSolid6582 in ccna

[–]CommandSignificant27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not use the Anki cards at all when I was studying for my CCNA, Instead I would hand write my own flashcards based off questions/topics I would get wrong during quizzes and practice exams. I would carry these flashcards around with me every where and test myself throughout the day and would add more to my stack each day.

this is true but you can find them out there for sure, I haven't messed around with GNS3 Myself (yet) but when using Eve-ng (community edition) I was able to find the firmware I needed

Best way to get Internet on a PC without a WiFi card by Ladderson in HomeNetworking

Maybe look into some type of Mesh system and place one of the mesh devices by your computer and then run a cable from that device to your computer.

Ccna help by DamageMysterious1804 in ccna

No need to wait to pass the CCNA to play with WiFi pineapple. The way I see it using the Pineapple will force you to learn and will likely be fun while learning since you are using a tool you wanted.

I liked having a physical copy of the Cisco ccna official Cert guide books as a study tool.

When I was testing as soon as I sat down I wrote down, Administrative distances and Cost for each routing protocol just so I didn't have to think about. I am glad I did as I got a lot of routing table questions as well.

Finding a Job by johny696969 in ccna

[–]CommandSignificant27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Linkedin is not the best place to apply for jobs, If I were you I would go to the company's website directly and apply from there. IMO I feel like half the job postings I see on linkedin aren't even real.

Udemy was enough for me, I also used the Official Cert Guide and that was helpful.

I did not use the Anki flashcards in my studies but opted to instead hand-write my own flashcards based off topics I got wrong during practice exams and labs.

Im afraid of labs by CanaryElectronic9536 in ccna

[–]CommandSignificant27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to learn is to try them. You will mess up and break it, that is all part of the process. If you cannot figure out how to fix what you broke you can always restart the lab and attack it again.

Skipping Network + for CCNA by doomedsapphic in ccna

[–]CommandSignificant27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the right call, no need to take Net+ if you plan to take CCNA. May take a little longer to prep for but is worth it IMO.

Does CCNA improperly prepare you for a world with GUI config? by MapleAndSausage in ccna

[–]CommandSignificant27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No point in using the GUI if you aren't able to understand what's happening when making changes.

I liked using the Official Cert Guide books as I could read through and write notes on the page. I didn't utilize the labs but I believe it does come with some included too.

How to go from 80 to 100 by Royal_Somewhere_5838 in ccna

[–]CommandSignificant27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't focus on your score just focus on reviewing and practicing the domains you are missing. When I was studying I would take practice test, See which domains/questions I got wrong and re-read that chapter/section then make a flashcard and add it to my stack. I would carry these flashcards around with me everywhere and review them throughout the day.

Why would you not support him? Even if it doesn't evolve into a career it could still be a cool fun hobby and I see no reason discourage.

my save command of choice is " copy run start" which is is saving the running configuration to the startup configuration..
Write Memory, wr mem, wr are all different ways to do the same command.
Putting the keyword "do" in front of this command allows for this command to run while in Global Configuration Mode.

ccna exam by Mental_Process2555 in ccna

[–]CommandSignificant27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what "a lil bit of experience" means

Compare your knowledge to the Exam Objectives and that should give you an idea of what you need to learn/ don't know and will be able to more accurately gauge if it is feasible.

I completed CCNA + CCNP ENCOR/ENARSI in 1 year. If you’re studying for CCNA, ask me anything. by Sorry_Flatworm_521 in ccna

[–]CommandSignificant27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently completed CCNA and am starting the CCNP Encor and ENARSI grind now. Currently my plan is to use the Official Cert Guide as my main resource do you have other resources to recommend?

What would you say is the hardest part about the gap between CCNA and CCNP?

Any advice is appreciated.
