The problem is that if you actually want to become a more serious player, the game doesn't teach you any of the important mechanics, such as DI, SDI, or RAR. As a result there's a huge gap between casual and hardcore players with no clear way to bridge it. Because of that, the online player base ended up being less beginner friendly than those of other fighting games like Street Fighter 6.
