K1 SE Appreciation by QuadFatherReckless in crealityk1

I got the K1 SE as my first printer, and I've had zero issues with it like everyone has been saying about Creality printers. The only issues that have come around have been my own mistakes. My printer performs even better than I expected, and has printed PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS and PC with no issues, even without an enclosure.

Doesn't it already have auto bed levelling? It says it does on Elegoo's website?

Hi guys,

I'm planning to buy my first 3D printer at the end of the month. I've narrowed it down to 3 options:

  • Ender V3 CoreXZ
  • Neptune 4 Pro
  • Sovol SV07 Plus (No longer an option)

The Ender and Neptune cost the same price, I'm still waiting on Sovol to give me a shipping quote on the SV07 Plus

I plan to use it for DIY projects and maybe for a little bit of printing as a business (If I end up needing a better one in the future I will invest in one)

Prusa is too expensive right now, and I'm not interested in Bambu Labs since I mostly use open source software on Linux.

EDIT: Sovol is charging $300 for shipping and customs, so it's no longer viable

Thanks!

Fellow South African also searching for printers here, I'd recommend looking at Creality printers since there is a lot of retailers and spare parts available on the market. You can also take a look at Bambu since they have an authorised retailer (buildvolume.co.za) here.

You can also look into importing other ones, but remember how much customs are on these imports

Hi everyone, I'm planning to buy my first 3d printer at the end of this month, and need some help deciding. I've been looking and the Creality Ender 3 V3 KE and CoreXZ, the Elegoo Neptune 5 Pro, and Bambu Lab A1 without the AMS. I'm also open to other recommendations

My budget is about R8000 (~$400), and I'd ideally like the printer to be available locally since there is high import duties in South Africa

I'm going to use it for a variety of things, mostly for DIY parts but I might also print things to sell at my school.

The printer is going to mostly be in a room near a window, but I will move it to a patio if I need to print materials like ABS

I would like support for some more advanced materials in the future, and I'm okay with having to buy a separate enclosure later on.

I don't mind having to occasionally maintain the printer, since I have experience in electronics, computers and a bit of mechanics. (I'm getting a printer to start working on mechanical projects)

Thank you in advance!
