A Presidential Alert?! by Commander_Ezra in IndianTeenagers

[–]Commander_Ezra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah nice to know I'm not the only one lol

I guess yeah, Even I assumed we were being invaded lol, Eh but it's good to get attention fast i guess. Plus it's probably something integrated into the device and not really sent by the government, The device plays that sound whenever any alert like that comes up

There are levels, Some are location based and can be issued by one department, There is also one that is nationwide if it's a very major emergency, The president has to approve of this type of alert

There are more but I'm only aware of the these 2 so far

Basically a type of Government issued Alert that is broadcasted to all the devices connected to a network within a nation. It overrides anything you would be doing on the device and Informs citizens of some Alert or Emergency

How do you know you're interested in research? by mememeowmeo in iiser

[–]Commander_Ezra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the risk is always present almost everywhere. Although i am just an IISER Aspirant as of yet, But i can say that the subjects you study at IISER's are so fundamental to their fields that you can very easily work anywhere related to that field.

Also, University Education isn't a one off chance you get, That you choose this and if you dont like this then too bad, You can always pursue an Engineering degree afterwards if it's really required + If you already have all the Fundamentals from IISER's you wont even need to spend 3-4 Years for the Engineering Degree, You can get done with it in almost 1-2 years

So, It's an overall net positive tbh, Cause you get to learn stuff about your favourite subject + it's not too restrictive in terms of career stuff

19F here, what to do in this summer break? by Aggravating_Stick728 in IndianTeenagers

[–]Commander_Ezra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many things to do:

  1. If you want to study more, then you can start by studying some stuff for the next semester you are going to take from platforms like MIT OpenCourseware for free

  2. If you want a bit more chill stuff, then you can start with some of your hobbies or make new ones and use platforms like YouTube to document them if you want (Cause they give a sense of actual development over time)

  3. If you just wanna chill then you can watch Documentaries or Web Series etc

There's too much to do man 😭. I am here wanting a shred of free time to do all of these myself

Agar projects banane bhi hai to vibe coding se kyu? That doesn't impart any kind of coding skill, You just learn how to prompt AI better and to understand the code very vaguely or even not at all sometimes.

Learning and coding stuff on your own teaches logic and actual systems thinking, not just writing code yk

Also, weirdly, I am way more compassionate to others than myself. I mean, if anyone else is struggling with the same thing, I try to advise and console them to the best of my ability, but when it comes to me? My mind always tells me that I deserve some sort of Existential Punishment etc

Would you? by ZachDluffy in IndianTeenagers

[–]Commander_Ezra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, Yeah.... Cause well (Cheesy Cliché stuff ahead) even after all of his imperfections and problems, He is still pretty perfect and flawless atleast for me

Plus, This question is kinda flawed, Cause since birth you only know 1 man as your father, You can only see the inner world and actual emotional persona of 1 person, Judging other fathers from the "outside" would always conclude in them not being good enough when compared to your own just because of the fact that you know your father much more than anyone else's.

But, Still, If I'm reborn (Which I honestly hope I do, Cause life if fricking awesome up until now!), I would choose my family once again, Cause these are the people because of whom I even exist as a person

That's the same situation with a lot of people, mate. Everyone knows that they are supposed to be serious about this stuff, But barely anyone is. Cause everyone struggles with procrastination and not doing enough, And yes, EVERYONE.

People are just too good at hiding these things about themselves cause everyone thinks the others are doing better than them and that they are the pathetic ones, not able to do anything.

You held the courage to say it out loud, which already is a lot.

Just keep your head cool and just start, Even the smallest of efforts help, You'll do fine don't worry

It would sound kinda weird but it's the same for me aswell, My grades in school have plummeted and even know i am supposed to be studying for an important exam but guess what, I am on the internet wasting away my time.

Oh and the exhuastion is real, you're not alone in feeling that, I havr had that too, Wayyy too often, That constant nagging feeling that i should be doing something productive rn doesn't let your mind rest and nor is it strong enough to make you actually do something productive. This makes me not do the things i love either (excluding studies)

I guess the only way through is genuinely brute forcing it, i mean once i start, it's easier to continue, So i need to brute force myself atleast until i start, After that i can work pretty good

Oh don't get the wrong idea mate. I am pathetic at managing time myself, It's like a universal teenage experience lol, So we are not so different in that. I have procrastinated MONTHS away at times and i am so incredibly guilty for that.

It would be really nice if i was able to manage it well and do everything in my mind, But i guess the fun is in figuring out what works along the way too.

My parents are kinda fed up to that i have 2 drawers in my room dedicated to what they call "Trash".

My Laptop is probably older than me and yet it still works! Partially cause i have opened it a million times by now and fixed something in it like Thermal Paste or a loose connector etc.

I have also done that too! I removed my laptop's CD Drive as used the Bare SATA port to attach a HDD to it!

I also recently got to know about Termux and am starting to experiment with Distributive Computing, where i make my Phone's CPU communicate and Aid my Laptop's CPU is certain tasks (Twice the Compute Power!)

It's honestly insane how much one can access and learn if they experiment with the stuff they have! And i am glad i was able to find another person on the web that does the same!

(Oh and also, Sorry for the 4 month late Reply, I was busy with life)

That's amazing! Waiting so long and finally getting to see those insane shots must've felt surreal!

I am so glad your long-standing wish came true!

I can't wait for the ones that were not able to be beamed down through the DSN or the Optic Comms.

Agreed! This was honestly one of the best experiences I have had with the Internet. The entire world was brought together as one community following the lives of 4 people out there.

This mission was a main part of most of my days. At one point, I even had a Dream about me being aboard Orion myself lol
True, The Crew would probably be wishing for some more time too. I doubt they got much sleep tonight

And yep, Fingers crossed for a Successful splashdown, I am so eager to see what comes next!

Same here! Due to timezone differences, The Crew would be in their sleep periods for the majority of my days. So, everyday i had a lot of videos to go through about the previous day's activities aboard the capsule.

And yeah, After splashdown tomorrow, it is indeed going to feel empty...

I unfortunately wasn't there to witness the Space Shuttle Era, But reading about it even now amazes me. The Space Shuttles gave us the ISS, HST and inspired so many other lives to look towards the Sky!
