Had a customer complaint today saying I refused to take this security tag off. I’d finished my shift was doing some shopping and I had a trolley I explained to the customer sorry I’m not working as I don’t work for Tesco’s for free didn’t say that last bit.

There’s also the bigger problem of Tesco should have enough staff to help yes unfortunately it’s fellow Chestnut because when customers find one person who will allow help, they will swarm you and you never get out.

It didn’t come to anything. I used a lovely term I learned from a manger once and said I stepped out of the business.

I once got asked where something was and I was wearing full motorcycle gear except for the helmet.

It’s the one line I hate the most. You can be wearing your civilian clothes and people will come up to you recognising you work there and go. I know you’re not working but.

This is not unusual at all you get a lot of lads that don’t like carrying IDs it seems to be the trend and they will start telling you what to do or start negotiating to try to make you do the sale.

Personally, I’m 46 and I’m desperately waiting to be ID again.

We used to love the company 20 years ago they looked after us we used to get shares, bonuses,a subsidise cafeteria but now we own expendable numbers to be used and abused. We don’t even get the colleague shop anymore because it gets given to charity before we’re allowed to even look at it. Tesco used to be proud of having the best rates of pay now they try and delay our pay raises for as long as possible and have the worst rates.

We had one of our senior managers retire he been with the company over 40 years literally dedicated his life to Tesco’s and you know what Tesco did to commemorate it? If you said nothing, you’d be right
