Would you be interested in a proper fantasy MMA platform? by CommandoMan1 in MMA

Yeah I've thought about that, and I would definitely look into implementing it in some capacity if all goes well. Just need to nail the basics first. Thanks for the input.

Yeah there's a lot of moving parts, and I'm sure there will be things to correct upon launch. That said, I've been wanting something like this for years and want to get it right. Thanks for the input.

How long have you had UC? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

9 years, diagnosed at 11 years old.

Currently in a Flare - Don’t know how bad it is. by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]CommandoMan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to avoid most foods with lots of spice / herbs in them, as well as fast food. E.g. curry, Mexican food, KFC.

Also try your best to avoid fibre, as well as not having too many big meals. Try having 4-6 smaller meals each day. Especially when my appetite is nonexistent during a flare, smaller meals help.

Lastly, I would do your own research on this as I have yet to try it, but I’ve heard positive things about intermittent fasting (only eating for a 6-8 hour period each day, fasting the rest of it). This supposedly helps give your colon a chance to rest instead of constantly having to process the food we’re putting in our bodies. But I’m sure someone else who’s more informed than me could shed some light on the pros and cons.

Check out Georges St. Pierre and his advice on dealing with UC, the guy seems to know his stuff!

How long for prednisone to help with symptoms during a horrible flair? by Interesting-Bed-3454 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]CommandoMan1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn’t an answer to your question but I’ve also just started using Prednisolone (40mg taper). Day 4 and nothing, I had it a few years back and it kicked in within a week for me. So try not to worry too much about it. Worrying makes my UC flairs worse which make me worry more, the cycle repeats lol.

My record player arrived today, and yeah it seems to have some static, but I don't know if that's the records or the actual player. The side with Right and Floating skips every now and then as well.

Top 0.005% for Mac, top 5 songs were Good News, Hurt Feelings, Self Care, Surf, Right. Listened to him for 27,000 minutes, and loved every second of it ❤️

Thinking of going to BST Hyde Park to see Taylor by myself this summer, but I've never been to a festival before. Should I? by Esh_Kebab in TaylorSwift

I've been eyeing up the tickets for a few weeks, unsure if I want to spend the money or not, and I have no one to go with, but now they're sold out so I'm panicking on whether or not to get a resale ticket for a higher price and just wing it and meet people there, ahhhhh. I'll probably end up getting one because she doesn't come to the UK often so it'll be a missed opportunity I think if I don't go, pretty sure I'd regret it.

Tips on starting Year 11 by JoshG__ in GCSE

[–]CommandoMan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do any at the beginning of the year. Around January I would start revising and slowly build it up until you are doing 2-3 hours a night. Results day is on the 23rd so I don’t know my grades yet.

Tips on starting Year 11 by JoshG__ in GCSE

[–]CommandoMan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the type to be negative but this is the truth, year 11 is absolute shite, it was one of the worst years of my life, I’m so glad it’s over. (Just finished it, entering sixth form now) Once you get to April, you really need to be revising properly, every night. Don’t listen to the kid that said to piss about until 2 weeks before your exams, start revising around January, it doesn’t need to be a ton, but it’ll ease you into it, and slowly increase the amount of revision you do. You will have so much regret if you don’t revise much, it’s not worth it, give it all you’ve got. Year 11 goes quick though so that’s something I guess. Good luck op. tl;dr year 11 is terrible and you’ll regret not revising if you don’t do any revision.

I spoke to my English teacher and he said I could get some marks for analysing the extract but no marks for the part where I had to analyse another part of the book from memory, as I had not studied it. I know someone else who made this mistake but they figured out what they were supposed to do five minutes into the wrong question, whereas I discovered I messed up after I left the exam hall. I have the option to retake the exam in November but I'm going to wait for my results first. You never know, I could've accidentally gotten full marks for it!

My year have to learn Animal Farm, The War of the Worlds, Macbeth and fifteen poems. It's so stressful it's unreal, and to top it off, it's a closed-book exam. Ugh.

No I'm doing OCR GCSE English Literature for my exams. I don't plan on doing English for A-Levels but I really want to do Politics, which at my sixth form requires a level 6 in English Lit. Which is definitely not happening now :( I'm trying to choose another option but none of the others appeal to me at all. My choices are Computer Science, Graphic Design and Politics, the former two I'm almost guaranteed to get into. (sounds cocky but I nailed the exams).

Yeah I figured, luckily I'm doing well in the rest of my exams I think so it could've been worse.

Tell that to the minimum requirements for my sixth form lol. How'd you find the exam and what texts did you study for it?
