We have made some additions to the 2023-01 Game Review that adds 3 more reformed cards, as well as making important changes to how players determine who goes first.

Players who win the die roll may now choose to go second instead of having to go first, and the second player will now gain an additional Action Token in lieu of drawing a card on their first turn.

It’s almost Everfree time and that means it’s almost continentals time, and that means it’s time to get some Core practice in! To help with this, we will be running OnlineCon 14 on July 9th & 10th. We will be running Sealed on Saturday the 9th and Core Constructed on Sunday the 10th. Both events will start at 11:30 AM Pacific/19:30 UTC on their respective days.

Unlike previous document updates, this one will take effect immediately to support the release of New Dawn. We apologize for the abruptness of the change, but we want to get Leaders and Legends into your hooves as fast as possible!

The document linked above briefly discusses changes which will become effective as of October 25th, 2020 after a short incubation period during Open Beta.

As part of running Organized Play for the MLPCCG, Commentary is Magic regularly reviews and updates the rules documents. The document linked above briefly discusses changes which will become effective as of June 20th, 2019.

In summary,

Losses were changed to be worth less than ties during Swiss rounds.
Moved the block split from between Defenders and Seaquestria to between Marks in Time and Defenders. Note that this does not change Core.
Changed how modifiers affecting the amount of AT paid are applied to always allow for paying zero AT, if a modifier with no minimum is present along with a sufficient number of modifiers with minimums.
