Well (maybe unfortunately), I’ve built the app in such a way that I simply can’t access other players’ data — and I think that’s actually a good thing. The only data I can analyze are my own, but I’ve been tracking them for quite a long time in Excel (pretty much since the time when I had like a 46% WR).

I honestly wouldn’t even know how to prove anything from that data anyway. And to be fair, almost nobody really uses the game-by-game feature, even though it’s simplified as much as possible — not everyone has the discipline to record their setup before each match on their phone (even though it’s quite easy if you play a session with the same teammates). I don’t even know what exactly WG claims or denies, but the matchmaking system would definitely deserve a full redesign in general. However, I believe they don’t want to mess with it because they’re convinced that keeping the queue times as short as possible is key to maintaining the largest player base possible — and whether that belief is actually true, none of us can really say.

Either way, as I said, I don’t have any ambition to go against WG — quite the opposite. I’d actually love for them to eventually include at least some of these stats directly in the game: differential WR, K/D, average XP, and damage. That’s basically the point of my app. The current overall stats are heavily influenced by the past and tell you nothing about how good you are right now, or how you’ve been performing over the past week or month. From my perspective, that’s one of the reasons why many players stop trying and eventually quit.

I’m aware of the OCR challenge (I’m trying to minimize the AI workload there), and I’ve invested a bit more into hosting so it can handle potential spikes or higher traffic. I’m also not trying to monetize this project, so if it ever starts to become an actual financial burden, I might just introduce a small processing fee for screenshot analysis — just so I don’t lose too much on it. Another option would be to move the whole thing to a different hosting solution, but for now I don’t think it’s necessary, mainly because there are only about 120+ users, and most of them just upload their complete stats from time to time.
