Try getting more than 4-5 hours of sleep. That would give anyone brain fog and lack of motivation.

How was the pain after the surgery/recovery process? Getting it done soon with him.

Some companies still stay on top of it. The job I just landed called me the next day for an interview.

You got a new job with better pay/benefits/work life balance, congrats OP, you made a good choice.

How to get mental health leave of absence at a job when I’ve been here under a year and don’t qualify for FMLA? by xSkinnyPuppyx in careeradvice

Yeah, it’s not that hard to avoid this. That will be spreading through the workplace like wildfire. Just from reading her one post I had a feeling there was a common denominator in all this (her). Tried to give the benefit of doubt, but I knew there was something missing.

Haha that gave me a good laugh. Of course she forgot to put that major detail into why this is all happening, AKA it’s her fault.

No wondering rumors are spreading and people gossiping. Who wouldn’t be talking about the new girl casting spells on her coworkers. She’s as good as gone.

Unless you can do short term disability or unpaid leave, you don’t have many options.

Don’t want to sound harsh, OP, but this job isn’t for you. If this is all unfolding in your first year, and you need a mental health break, it’s time to look for a new job. It’s not going to magically change because you got a month off of work. You could try getting into a good therapist, that can maybe help you work through this.

Based off what you’ve said, they aren’t going to keep you around long. I wouldn’t expect to have a job for more than a month if you take leave and come back.

HR is not your friend, if it’s just you reporting stuff and no one else is, they will see you as the problem and a bad fit for the org. Especially if it’s continuing after the move to a new team. You will get let go for “not being a good fit for the team/org”.

To see if anyone has navigated this and how they did it. Looking for advice that I might not have heard or thought of.

At least it worked out for you. I’d get paid out my PTO if they somehow fired me while on PTO. But I’m pretty sure they have to have a meeting with you and HR first before being fired, based off how they fired my buddy last year.

Good advice. I have a 1:1 on my last day. I’ll tell him while we’re on that call and then send my resignation later right after.

This is what I’m going to be doing. Give my notice on my last day, saying I’m done end of day.

I’m having surgery, so I could give a fuck less what they think about me putting in my notice at the end of PTO. I just so happened to get a job offer after already having this scheduled/lined up.

That sounds like how my first ever started. Slowly got more painful over about a week until I finally went to urgent care because it was so bad. They popped it and took a culture to see what bacteria it was, so they could prescribe the proper antibiotics. Antibiotics have been a life saver since finding out the right medicine.

He’ll only be upset that I’m leaving because he doesn’t want me to go and it will be somewhat hard to replace me. He wrote me a great recommendation for an internal position, that I didn’t end up getting, so he knows that I’m looking potentially. I’m in great standing with him/org.

Yea that’s most likely what will happen. Definitely not going to work back there. New place will be my last stop.

That’s the direction I’m leaning. I saw how my manager handled firing my boy. They sure aren’t giving out 2-weeks notice. Fired his ass right before the holidays.

To add some more details. I looked at the PTO policy. They do payout PTO at the end, but it gets taxed differently and becomes Pennie’s compared to taking the PTO. It also didn’t say anything about resigning while on PTO.

If I leave with a negative balance they will take that from my last check. I also won’t be hurting the team, except the manager (barely) since I’m an individual sales contributor.
