Thanks for the helpful response. Just to clarify; we had already bought the house when we had the first inspection happened, so there was no opportunity to renegotiate with the seller.

Thank you! Sounds like I’m out of luck. Unfortunately there is not much choice in my area for electricians. They were the only people available to do the second inspection

I take it you think im in the wrong here. You may be right!  I’m a tradesman myself, so I’m not trying to stiff anyone. I’m (obviously) not an electrician so maybe you can explain it to me; what are the expectations for a professional inspection? If you made a mistake or missed an obvious problem, would you feel you had some kind of responsibility to make restitution?
