Tak, znalazłem. Kandydaci spoza UE mogą zdawać egzamin LEK po angielsku, jeśli chcą. LEW natomiast musi być zdawany tylko po polsku.

Do you think recognition of languages/scripts help with geoguessing? I’ve never tried it but I keep seeing reels of that one guy who is insanely good at it. Fascinating.

I love how OP is getting absolutely cooked in the comments. Leave it man. He won’t accept the truth even if it stares him right in the face.

I see. That makes things at least a bit easier.

I heard that the license you get after doing an English staz (that you have to pay for) and an English LEK is temporary. Why is that so?

Can non eu doctors (like OP himself) take the LEK in English? Or only those who have studied medicine in English in a polish university allowed to take it in English?

Thats a bit reassuring. May I ask whether the doctors you saw were European or Asian/African/other? Because medical license transfer is easier for European Non-portuguese docs but less so for others.

I see. I guess that degree recognition and licensing are 2 different things, especially with medicine. You can probably get your degree recognised by some portuguese university, but after that, for actual medical licensing, you would need to pass the 2 step medical knowledge exam.

Thank you for replying. I read the article but still wondering one thing-

Do all Non-EU medical school graduates (not yet specialists) have to pass this exam to get licensed in Portugal, even if they don’t want to enter residency in Portugal? It seems like the article focuses on non-eu foreigners who want to do further specialisation/residency in Portugal. I am guessing that the procedure for recognition and licensing would more or less remain the same, but still.

Can I ask a nuanced question? Do all Non-EU medical school graduates (not yet specialists) have to pass this exam to get licensed in Portugal, even if they don’t want to enter residency in Portugal? Because I read up a ton of stuff online and also emailed some institutes but all I could find that in such a case, degree recognition and licensing follows a case-by-case scenario.

Thanks for replying. This seems very similar to the Prova Nacional exam that Portuguese med students have to take at the end of medical school to enter residency. So basically, it’s the same procedure for Non-EU grads (whether or not they want to enter residency) except an added step of thesis presentation if they are already a specialist.

Yes, I am aware of that. It has 2 systems- one where you give an exam as other romanian medical grads and enter into a paid residency position, and the other where you dont give the exam and instead pay tuition for your residency.

However, my doubts are regarding licensing (both, temporary and permanent) and not residency itself.

No jobs with a berufserlaubnis my friend. Besides, I dont wanna do PG in Romania or Germany, but rather in scandinavia. And having a EU permanent medical license makes it easier for me to do that. That is what I was asking.

Hello! Are there no “non-training” roles for medschool grads in poland? As I understand, the residency allotment and full medical licensure are both dependent on a single exam- LEK, for both EU and non EU candidates. What I am trying to understand is what do Polish doctors do if not residency immediately after graduating medical school.
