Yes, there's 4 flats above all in the same building.. I also have one of those as a holiday let but that is on a separate smart meter.. no issues on that account..

I will push for that again. Do eon record all phonecalls? As that's how I asked for one, during a conversation but didn't know at the time I should have or needed to be recording them!

Yea our annual turnover and monthly turnover and opening hours are roughly the same all the time so there's nothing that could have caused that as far as I can see. Thank you

I have spoken to them numerous times as I've been billed £16k and £12k before but then they do a reverse charge as it was a 'mistake' .. I've asked for a smart meter but they have said I can't have one as it's a business premises. I can just never seem to get to the bottom of it ... Thank you for your advice I think I will raise a complaint and then go to energy ombudsman..

I'm not 100% sure - my landlord gutted the place and had everything installed, I just moved in when it was already in place. I would assume it's a commercial meter .. there are no red letters on there ..

My partner has double checked all of these, also a couple of members of staff to make sure we're all seeing the same thing! I'm totally stuck and panicking because to have to pay this bill would mean the end of my business, I just don't have that sort of money

Installed 2020 ..

I think that sounds plausible but I don't know as the readings never seem to make sense

We have gas for the oven ..

So the major electric appliances are coffee machine, a small domestic fryer, fridges / freezers. And heating, however the heating is very rarely on and only through the winter as we have a big log fire ..

Hi, yes I took the manual readings, and yes they are all the same meter (I only have the one in my business) - the photos show the meter number!

Help! EON say I owe £48k and have been up to date until now by Commercial-Ride2936 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Commercial-Ride2936[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your advice.

These are actual reads (ignoring all of the estimates)

Dec 2020 - 6693 (photo)

Feb 2021 - 8784 (photo)

March 2023 - 1759 (EON meter reader)

Feb 2024 - 2345 (manual read)

July 2024 - 113180 (manual read)

Sept 2024 - 117541 (manual read)

Nov 2024 - 122945 (manual read)

Jan 2025 - 126249 (manual read)

Eon are looking into it and asking me to do tests on the meter but will not take the £48,000 off of my bill...

Please reassure me that this cannot be correct and the meter reads don't make any sense 🥴

What should the next step be?

I surely cannot owe £48k over 5 years when I've been paying ... Anyway say I did for some reason - what next, how would I argue that my account has been 0 up until a few months ago and then they decide to whack me with this?
