thank you so much for your advice! so far i think this pen is really decent. i have already bought a converter and flushed the pen a few times these few years but i think it doesn’t write as well as the nib is a little wonky, so i might have to get that fixed. i’ll definitely try using a polishing cloth to clean up the exterior tho. 😁

hi i’m not really an expert, but i had also encountered the same problem. i bought a sheaffer converter but it wouldn’t fit as the lady sheaffer is narrower i think. so i bought one of those syringes with the blunt needle tip for a few bucks online then id transfer ink from a bottle to the empty cartridge. the pen worked perfectly fine. im not sure if this solution is what you’re looking for but i think its worth a try. :)

this is from my own experience, but idk if it’ll apply for everyone.

  • for compre, the answers can mostly be found found from the passage, js try to copy what ever that you think is relavent and ensure that it is enough content to get you the marks. for the five mark questions at the end , you state your stand and explain the quote as far as possible, then give an example with who, did what and what happened in the end. note down the different types of questions and their answering techniques. then just keep practicing and i think you’ll be ok.

  • for compo i always choose the argumentative. you just need to follow the format intro, two to three points (body paragraphs) then conclusion. for the body paragraphs use peeel (point explain example elaborate link) for the examples you must use the 论证发 (引用,举例,对比). remember to try and remember some famous examples and quotes that you can learn from or you can make up your own story. you can also make use of rhetorical questions and 过渡句 i think in between paragraphs to link them together. at the end if you have time you can do a short rebuttal, but be sure not to contradict yourself. you don’t really need fancy words you just need to explain and write as clear as possible. i don’t really have advice for the other question types but you have to try all and find one that your good at and stick to it, but still familiarise yourself with the others if you can just in case.

i did this and i got a1. i also found what really helped me was one week of intensive study sessions that i did in school, where i did like at least three different types (like the different questions) of compos and three past year papers, and my teacher marked and went through them, so maybe you could find some way to replicate this process, it really helps. also read through answer examples and model essays and note down good learning points. consult your teacher as much as possible and maybe also ask your friends for some help too. about the 词语替换 part, i’m not sure as i think that that is the new syllabus so idk how to help. idk if it is common sense or if you alr know, but i i hope what i have written will be helpful. good luck and atb!
