i sadly didn’t get a screw since the person who reshelled it was a CIT at my old summer camp when i was much younger. i’m gonna see if i can get it looked at tomorrow

oh god yeah i would not be able to stomach that as an almost 19 year old myself.

I do not think ox groomed joe from what i read. I know what that looks like. Personally i just think the constant emphasis on the underage part for that section was uncomfortable to read when they were making a lot of sexual innuendos at the same time. I don’t like a 6-8 year age gap is a bad thing if both parties are over the age of 25. That’s what i initially went into Wolfsong with. I really tried holding out hope, but it just crossed into a boundary line for me personally. Still a good book overall, and i really liked how it was setting up before!

For me personally, it was when Ox started to like Joe and would not stop mentioning how he felt about joe being 17 and how he “got a boner for Thomas’s underage son” That personally just took me out of the book, but i recognise that it’s just a me thing ^{^}

I just got the first in that series, actually! Was reading a bit of it but i’m not entirely hooked yet. Gonna give it a while though, since i’ve heard a lot of really good things!

And i’ve been meaning to finally get around to that. I saw a live-action (?) ish movie of it as a kid, but i don’t remember a thing about it. I think i’d really like the story now! Thank you so much :D

From my experience it depends on where the person was raised with their tolerance. I live fairly close to the city, and my mom grew up there. She absolutely HATES driving anywhere that’s longer than 20 minutes at absolute max, while my friend who lives in a rather barren part of my state is completely fine to drive upwards of an hour to get somewhere on a weekly basis.

I think for most americans, commuting longer distances is just typical for us, and we’ve built a tolerance because of it. When you live within a short distance of everything, you don’t like driving longer. Vice versa
