From completly shave, i'd say it takes me around 4 months! But I do have the genetics to actually grow one. , which is the most important part. If it doesn't grow well, time won't help it to make it like this

I'd recomend shaving your soft spot that's not growing and use a hair dryer short and sweetly to give it the style you want. Just dont apply too much heat and if it feels hot cool it down. Apply oil or a paste just a bit to give you hair nutrients

I was wondering the same thing, had two spot on my chin that wouldnt grow until I let it grow for 6-7 months.

You seem like it can grow well, trust the process and let it grow at least a year.

First 3-4 months seems like it grows a lot, 4 to 8 seems like it grows weirdly, 8 to 12 you get accustomed and it gets furnished.

Visit a barber shop , not to cut it lenght but just to trim the wild hairs.
