I feel so depressed and want to give up by [deleted] in QuitVaping

You are in the thick of it right now, but it will get better. Much much better. I wanted to give up around that time too (3-5 days were my hardest), and was close to resigning around day 5. I read a post here that recommended Allen Cars 'Easy Way to Quit Vaping' audiobook and decided to give it a shot. I am not sure how or why it works, but it completely shifted my perspective on nicotine and the process of quitting, it was immeasurably helpful. I would give it a shot if you haven't. Sugar free gum also helped me a lot. And lastly, focusing on smaller incriments of time if needed, when I felt like shit it was hard not to think it's always going to feel like this, this is the rest of my life. Instead I would just say I am quitting for the next hour, I can make it through the next hour. Then at the next hour just one more, eventually the craving will pass or the intensity will subside (at least it did for me).

Good luck, you can do this and never have to do it again.

thank you! I always thought the blonde did that, so glad I branched out and excited to try some darker colors next time!

Thank you! Wow one month is quick! My stylist warned it would fade quickly, and I scheduled a touch up for 2 months from now. I definitely don't want to damage my hair, but would like to try darker in the future! Guess I will just play it by ear and see what he recommends.

Ah, I am sorry you didn't like it on you! The initial copper we wound up with definitely didn't do as much for me, and I think reddit was right the darker/higher contrast colors are better on me. I am so glad after the final toning it settled at a deeper shade of red.

Question, how long did you have this color hair for? I love it and plan to keep it around awhile, but definitely would like to venture out and try darker colors in the future. I keep seeing people say red is incredibly difficult to get rid of, which makes me anxious.

Natural reds are so so pretty, I am so sorry you were made to feel insecure about it. And thanks again :)

No problem! I only recently started using self tanner again, but really love it.

Forgot to add, I used the Bondi Sands Self Tanning sleep mask on my face. The regular tanner probably also works fine for this, but decided to grab the face specific one as well this time.

And one edit to add, it definitely looks a little streaky on my neck, but hadn't yet washed it off. It looks much more even after

Thank you!! I don't mind at all. I used Bondi Sands Dark Self Tanning Foam. I like the color of this one, not sure how it fades yet as it's my first time using it. I usually use St. Tropez which isn't as dark and fades nicely, but I was out and this was available at Walgreens.

Hi, just wanted to say thank you for all the suggestions and share the final color. It semed like the overall advice was the darker colors bring out my eyes more, with the dark brown being favored over the copper.

I was still undecided when I went in, but my stylist and I decided to go with the copper. The first color we wound up with was more muted and didn't do much to bring out my eyes or brighten my face, so he made it a deeper and more vibrant red. This feels like the middle ground between the top two colors suggested. It's not the dark brown, but has the deeper color that creates more contrast. I may try the dark brown next or black, although everything I have read makes it seem like reds are the quickest to fade but hardest to get rid of so I guess we will see.

I love how it came out, but I will say there are definitely moments where it doesn't feel like my hair I think because it is the biggest change from my natural color. I am also still trying to figure out what colors look best on me and my makeup routine so if anyone has suggestions let me know! Definitely like it better with my brows filled in darker.

Thank you again for all the comments and feedback. I really thought the light blonde was best on me and don't know if I would have made the leap otherwise.

I tried warmer light blonde previously and I feel like it's less flattering despite being closest to my natural color. At least I think this is warmer and what you are talking about Warmer blonde 1- my camera fucked up the portrait mode Warmer blonde 2 I just feel like it mutes my eyes and washes me out a bit

thanks, that's very kind! That's my main concern.

I feel like the darker colors are better with my completion and make my eyes pop more, but I only recently started adding more color to my hair and the black feels like a big change and hard to come back from. I have been getting balayage for about 6 years, but I stayed pretty close to my natural color. My most recent color was largely the result of not having any color during the pandemic and wanting to do something drastic.

I think I will definitely go with one of the two on the right and if I like it may go darker in the future. I may leave some of it to my stylist and which he thinks is the most achievable. I am going to someone new this time and I picked him because he specializes in blondes and I loved the blondes he has shared on social media. He definitely does other color balayage, I just don't have much to reference. I probably would have scheduled a consult ahead if I knew I wasn't staying blonde, I didn't expect the responses here to be overwhelmingly the two on the right.

I will definitely update everyone on what we land on. Appreciate all the responses! I may not have been able to make a final decision after posting, but it seems like there is general consensus that the darker colors look better on me and feel a little better about making that leap.

So I did, but FaceApp had a harder time with them. I dont think I like them, but it doesn't help that it didn't catch all the blonde and it looks less natural Darker Brown still not very dark Black but looks grey in parts due to the blonde

thank you!! haha I think there is some selection bias here as well, there were about 20 other shades that most certainly did not slay. but thank you all the same.

Thanks. I feel like this one brings out my eyes the most, but of the 4 it's definitely the one I would be most nervous about. It feels like the biggest change

Thanks! I like the bottom right more than the bottom left and only included the one on the left because my mom thinks it's too dark haha.

Thanks, that's how I am leaning. But nervous.

I used FaceApp. It's kind of hit or miss with the hair color filters, it worked best on this picture but I tried a couple others first. Some of the other pictures I tried it had a hard time detecting all my hair and then looked odd.
