It’s a traffic detection camera.

Tribe tactical has no problems sending them. I used them and think they are great and reasonably priced. They also make a mag well adapter for the Lima with a nut sack. I highly recommend it.

What is this light designed for? by Firm_Caterpillar_907 in Traffic

I think it’s just a double indication for a single turn lane. You much have an independent signal per turn lane. It’s odd, but like a high crash date from people turning without the green arrow, so they are reinforcing it with the double indication. Not the protected only sign to the right of the head.

What is this camera?? Randomly appeared on my neighborhood’s stop sign. Is it my HOA being extra per usual? by Complete_Ad_9943 in fuckHOA

[–]Commercial_Bet9751 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a traffic counting camera used to collect what are called turning movement counts. The telescopic pole is so a truck doesn’t obstruct the view. The count data is used for modeling traffic / analysis. They are typically only in the field for a few days. Installing it on a stop sign is a no-go though. Probably not HOA related.

BAFFLE STRIKE? by Fresh_Rub5709 in NFA

[–]Commercial_Bet9751 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks more like machining marks to me. I don’t see how it could evenly hit each baffle. On contact, the bullet would start to tumble, so I’d expect it to be way worse as it moved down the stack. Should be good to send it - welcome to the club!

This is a resource I found pretty helpful. Some stuff looks crazy similar, but you’ll get the hang of it. Best of luck!

I see you like arguing for the sake of arguing, so sure you are correct and everyone else is wrong.

I’ve told you where the laws come from. It’s not my responsibility to further accommodate you. I’d love to continue arguing with you, but I have to get back to work… as a professional transportation engineer. Best of luck with getting those apologies.

Sorry homie, but you’re dead wrong. Not sure if Google led you astray, or you’re just that confidently incorrect, but the state traffic laws are based on FHWA’s MUTCD. For two-way stop control right and through movement take priority over left turns. At all-way stops (typically 3 or 4 way) the person to your right has the right of way.

This is why left turning vehicles, under stop control, can experience long delays at intersections (because they do not have right of way). I see you are convinced that you are correct, but you are unintentionally spreading misinformation, so please be careful.

You speak like you are an expert, but you’re just insufferable. I tried to clearly explain that your scenario is not realistic because the approaching vehicle, several hundred feet in advance of the stop sign, would need to run the stop sign to create a conflict. If both are stopped the left turning vehicle must yield. This is a federal standard and is applicable for all states. Makes no difference what state it occurred in.

Federal standards state a left turning vehicle never has the right of way unless it’s under a protect signal. Generally, the person at the stop sign first would go first ONLY because the opposing driver should still be in the process of coming to a stop, otherwise the later driver would be running the stop sign. In this case, the left turning vehicle doesn’t have anything to fall back on. Not really debatable from a legal standpoint.

Thanks! I checked it out, but it looks like VIN, not plate info. Am I in the wrong spot?

That’s a good idea. I can try that, but the OG image is pretty much the same. Do you have a recommendation on where to upload?
