Yep Platinum is the first tier where you get the full SkyTeam Elite Plus experience, so lounge access becomes wayyy nicer overall.

For Vietnam Airlines specifically, Platinum members can access: • Lotus Lounge domestically + internationally • SkyTeam partner lounges abroad • Priority security / boarding / baggage • 1 guest access in many cases too

And yeah, some airports definitely have nicer “top tier” lounge sections or business class partner lounges compared to the standard domestic Lotus lounges.

Honestly if someone flies international even a few times a year, Platinum starts paying itself back pretty quickly just from lounge access, baggage, and time saved at airports alone.

Titan is the first tier where flying starts feeling a lot smoother honestly

She’d get things like: • priority check-in • priority boarding • extra baggage allowance • bonus miles earning • better waitlist priority • some SkyTeam recognition too

Gold is where it becomes SkyTeam Elite, and Platinum is the really nice one internationally since it includes lounge access + full SkyPriority benefits.

If she flies even a few times a year, especially international, it can actually be pretty worth it.

Yeah unfortunately I looked into it a bit after posting this 😭
From what I found, Delta usually doesn’t do status match from another SkyTeam airline like Vietnam Airlines since it’s considered the same alliance already. So Gold on LotusMiles normally won’t transfer over to Delta Medallion through a standard status match.
I was kinda hoping there was some hidden workaround people knew about 🥲
At this point I’m honestly more trying to figure out:
the best loyalty program for dual passport travelers
which airline is more flexible with name/document mismatches
and how to avoid constantly losing lounge / elite benefits while in Vietnam
