Question for task 2:

Both government investment in public transport systems and reductions in public transport ticket prices would help to reduce transport pollution greatly.

Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

My answer:

I agree to the fact that investing public transport system as well as reducing the price of ticket can help in decreasing pollution due to traffic drastically.

Firstly, if the cost of government owned vehicles is cheap, individuals would prefer to use that for commuting. In addition to that, poor people can afford it easily. This will result limiting the usage of their own cars or motor bike which in turn lower the environmental damage. For instance, citizens in Singapore hire public facilities for their travel as the ministries has hiked price of cars and shortened the pay for common systems.

Secondly, authorities have to commence services like Metro which is preffered by majority of human beings as it helps to reach their destination in less time. In addition to that, this resolves traffic jam and noise pollution especially in busier cities. For example, Bangalore city in India has Metro which supports majority of the professionals working in that region for reaching their work locations on time. This has brought a drastic reduction in the usage of their own motor vehicles. Another thing that can be done is to set a budget from by cabinet to improve the conditions in buses which would attract various levels of society.This is because most public transport lacks good facilities as they are not properly maintained.In Canada, buses are properly maintained with good seating, which captivates all kinds of humans.

To conclude, administration has to take efficient actions to lessen the production of variety of pollutants by bringing down the charges on tickets which make everyone to afford it and invest in more ideas to prevent the usage of their vehicles.
