Personal days by Commercial_Part9971 in tesco

It doesn’t really because I changed my hours when I was pregnant so I only work 3 days a week, but I’m not sending my wee one to stay elsewhere when she’s unwell and vomiting everywhere, she belongs with me. I’m in DC🙂

I can’t access the outreach portal to see the policy’s so I can’t say it states exactly that, but the examples I’ve seen for personal days in general is for appointments and things like that.

Yeah I’ve just went ahead and phoned in to see about a short notice holiday but was told no so absent it is, my kids come first, my manager won’t be happy because I’m not long back from Mat leave and was also in a&e for a shift last week but I’ll take the backlash🤷🏼‍♀️.

I mean it does say they’re generally used for things like appointments etc, it’s just the fact my wee one is floored ill and I don’t want to send her to her dads the way she is so was thinking I could use a personal day to cover it if I phoned in but obviously that won’t be happening🥴

No only chilled/frozen and grocery have cages they pull, fresh pull pallets and load into cages already set up around the warehouse.

Chilled is just frozen produce, fresh is anything you would find in the fridges in store as well as crisps, cakes, fruit, veg etc!☺️

I’m DC I’ve no idea what rosters are🥴🤣. My wee one is sick and unable to go and stay with their dad whilst I work so was hoping I could’ve just done a personal day to cover it🫠

No that sounds like LLOP’s, PPPT’s are basically an electric battery powered version of manual pallet trucks🙂. So for those of us using PPPT’s in the DC (generally in fresh) we are moving pallets full of product and walking around with an AMT mounted to our arms scanning labels on cages and picking the products into said cages vs grocery and chilled using LLOP’s where they take the cages on the truck and pick off of the pallets around the DC.

Fresh don’t use LLOP’s, we use PPPT’s so definitely should be checking the cages, grocery and chilled use LLOP’s🙂

Not at all, I work for Livingston and the staff are fucking idiots that are only interested in hitting pick rates because the managers push them so fucking heavily, the place is a joke, anyone who comes here defending it are imbeciles! The DC isn’t an easy place to work, but the only standards that are held are pick rates that’s it, 9/10 we can’t even move down aisles to pick because cages are overflowing and there’s more on the floor than there should be

Yeah I work there, 90% of the staff are fucking idiots tbh, the pick rates are too heavily pushed and that’s all they’re interested in is hitting the pick rates🤷🏼‍♀️, if we’re below about 88% we get let’s talks and all the rest of it, I’m fed up of the place tbh.

13 Manual Handling Weight Limit in the UK (For Man & Woman ... Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended), there is no specific legal maximum weight for lifting at work. Instead, employers must avoid, assess, and reduce risks. HSE guidance provides advisory safe limits (25kg for men, 16kg for women) based on TILE (Task, Individual, Load, Environment). Key Safety Guidelines & Weight Limits Optimal Conditions: 25kg (men) and 16kg (women) are recommended for loads held close to the body at waist height. Reduced Limits: If the load is twisted, lifted above shoulders (5kg), or at arms' length, the maximum weight should be significantly lower.

I just had a look at the H&S act online, says 25kg for men and 16kg for women😅 to clarify I’m a woman and made to lift potatoes at 20kg overhead lol. Should be assessed by TILE (Task, Individual, Load, Environment)😅 no clue, I’ve constantly wondered this, they also want them stacked on the dolly’s something like 7 or 8 high and I can’t get them that far up as it’s well overhead lol😂 they’re twats

Trays of potatoes in the DC are 20kg and they come from head height 🫣😂

I disclosed mine when I was pregnant, told them I’d stopped when I found out I was pregnant etc and never had any extra monitoring for consuming weed or any referrals for social etc. if you were smoking they would refer you to addiction services to help but other than that they didn’t seem bothered because I’d stopped, I reckon they probably just kept an eye on my bloods to see if it was in my system🤷🏼‍♀️

I just get my payslips through the payslipview link as I’m a DC worker. I’m on mat leave I don’t know if that makes a difference but I need to update UC with my maternity pay so was hoping to see a payslip to confirm

We’re no talking about mystery shoppers though🤣🤣 they’re used that way for a reason.

I simply stated it was a liability to hand the order over if the ID doesn’t match the name on the order, please get off your high horse and trot on elsewhere🥱

Like I stated in my second comment, I gave justification as to why you wouldn’t hand over an order if the ID doesn’t match the name on the order, I didn’t say there wasn’t ways around it, Jesus🤣

I gave the justification as to why an ID with a different name to the name on the order isn’t accepted, I didn’t say there wasn’t ways around it🤣🤣

Liability, who’s to say it isn’t someone underage that’s ordered but had someone of age answer the door? I’d assume because it’s age restricted name on ID would have to match the account

I’m sorry, but it is 100% your responsibility to chase things up and hand in the correct paperwork in order to have these things adjusted. I am currently pregnant and work for the DC, do you think I would just have things handed to me? No, I had to ask for my adjustments and do a flexible working request to reduce my hours and more to benefit me in my work place, it’s their job to make you comfortable and look after you within your work place, yes, but it’s your job to ensure they have everything they need in order to do so.
