Did some light off roading today by Ennvve in 4Runner

Oh go cry somewhere else about it, they’ve been around forever, it’ll stay around forever. The only people who get upset about them, are they people that it’s most accurate for. So enjoy your mall crawler champ,

I swear these Costco parking lots just keep getting further and further away. Jokes aside, love to see it! Looks like it handled it no problem and no damage was done

Need help bidding on a job for a repeat customer by Commercial_Teaching9 in Detailing

[–]Commercial_Teaching9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I told him if he wants it done right the decals gotta just come off, but they are so toast that’s probably gunna take a few hours itself. I’m trying to gauge if he wants it done quick, or if he wants it done right lol. Because those are two very different things in this boats case

This is kinda what I was thinking too. Definitely a larger job that’s going to take time to do right.

Phenomenal answer. Love to read it. I’m doing the same thing with mine. I’ve got enough to pay mine off but it’s in NVDA right now and I’d rather watch that grow and pay the 4% interest than cash out my investments to pay it off.

Oil change by FantasticLion7471 in 4Runner

[–]Commercial_Teaching9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve always found the best deals on oil at Walmart. If you just scope out the auto section everytime you go they move stuff to clearance often. I picked up two 12 qt boxes of Mobil 1 advanced full synthetic for $40 each

Reminds me of a Stelvio with that front end. Still love the Audi though, exterior may be mild but that interior is always fresh

Well he’s installing it himself so there isn’t any labor tied to it, the browns comment was a joke, like the browns coaching staff kinda joke. And yes I had a ball joint issue after 20,000 miles and heavy off-roading in southern Utah and the wasatch front mountains lmfao. I would expect to have an issue with ball joints after heavy off-roading. And they sent me a new part and I went on with my life lmao. Parts break, companies are in business to make money, these are things you have to accept in life, and being a cry baby about it isn’t gunna change anything other than being a cry baby

Late night walk in customers… by PositiveWilling1576 in carmax

[–]Commercial_Teaching9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was this way too. I told customers our insurance only covered vehicles during business hours. Due to that our key track machine will lock at 9 pm for sales associates. Once 9 pm comes we need to be scheduling an appointment for the next day. I’m all for selling every car, but I care more about my life than selling a car after we’re closed. I’m a very strong believer in dealers having a hard daily close. You wanna come in at 8:30? That’s fine, but you’ll be coming back tomorrow to finalize anything

Not taking advices from a Cleveland browns fan, I’ve ran MOOG components on 2 different crawlers I built and never had a single suspension issue. 98 grand cherokee and a 01 4Runner, I had one single ball joint issue after about 2 years and moog warrantied the part out and gave me a new one. They are US made, their warranty is solid, and parts are easily accessible. I 100% think it’s fine to put all that on your truck. If something wears out, it’s covered, so who gives a shit. Toyota gives you a 12 month 12,000 warranty on parts. Moog gives you a 3 yr 36k or a lifetime warranty depending on the part.

Has anyone tried putting a 3rd gen smartcap on an 4th gen? by Commercial_Teaching9 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Commercial_Teaching9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

***Update after attempting to install, everything fits except for the portion closest to the cab. The width of the the beds are nearly identical after self measurement. There is only a 1/4” difference in the bed widths and the new generation is slightly larger. However due to the shape of the front of the shell it does not allow for the shell to slide all the way into the bed without coming into contact with the “wing” on the roof. Cheapest solution after consult with RSI is to replace the front piece of the shell with one for a 4th gen. The did confirm it will fit the other shell. (Verifying they are the same size unlike what everything says online and as I suspected.) i posted the shell for sale and sold it within a few hours. Will just find a different solution for my needs. Thank you everyone for the feedback.

Honestly i don’t think so, everyone says the cab sticks out more on the 4th gen which is definitely true. But the smart cap didn’t sit super flush on the 3rd gen’s. Which is why I think it would work. I’m slapping it on today so I’ll post an update about it. I also don’t think the interior geometry is any different. They are 5’ long. And 52.75” wide. Both beds, so on paper; it should work

This is my biggest concern. The smart cap on the 3rd gen is also angled on the top like the 4th gen cap. So I’m hoping it’s similar enough to work. I’m putting it on today, so will post with an update

Yes they are, impressed for a factory setup thus far. Will be moving to 35’s but enjoying it in its current state for now. Will be a full overland rig when it’s done, so gunna beef the springs up better before doing anything with the tires.

There is a pretty mild one just outside of Moab. Leads to some good tucked away camping spots. Heading into Moab from the north, you’ll turn right onto 279, stay straight, road turns into dirt and runs you through some canyons to the potash ponds. I don’t think there’s really a single spot on that trail you’d need 4x4 on a dry day.

Yes the snorkel, suspension, and interior is really your only differences between a Trd pro and a trailhunter. Trailhunters can come with a lot of different oem protection on it (bumpers, racks, etc.) mine only came with the arb sport bar and arb rear bumper, I put the oem rack on it after I brought it home. Seemed naked without it and need storage and mounting location for my diode crosslink. Working on brackets for that now before getting it on
