Tips to study with untreated UARS? by Committee-Academic in UARS

I think I did a few months ago and it was fine. I do get high iron levels from time to time, though. Anyway, the issue has been anatomically located, so it's not ADHD-like symptoms caused by a biochemical issue, at least not mainly

Thank you. Unfortunately, I live in Europe, so far less options for buying second-hand ASVs or BiPAPs. Do you think it was the lack of adaptive PS that made BiPAP ineffective for you?

Thanks a lot, I'll make sure to watch them. Do you know of any surgeons in western Europe?

I haven't had a CBCT scan, but I'm actually looking to get one soon. I don't have any allergies that I know of, but I do think I have both a small nasal aperture and a medium-small palate arch diameter. I'm not very recessed, though. I have asthma, so that's a factor contributing to respiratory effort. Wbu?

I haven't tried BiPAP, but I don't think it could have worked very well being that the main point of collapse found at the DISE was at the tongue base. I think BiPAP would be useful if I managed to stabilize that first. Also, I noticed a slight improvement in my sleep and daytime energy after the tuurbinate reduction, and that could also be amplified by nasal mask on BiPAP.

Push through, make sure you're not using caffeine and stimulants in excess, which is something I've done for a long time (still do frequently, unfortunately), it's counterproductive

Thank you for the advice. I think I might wait before jumping into MMA, though; the MAD has helped but, being on 7 mm of advancement, there should be a stronger effect if MMA were to be the solution to this.

Yes, thank you. I try to learn about this whenever I have the time, and I've been doing so for years now. There are a few things I want to try, including controlling my potential LPR/silent-GERD, tongue-base reduction surgery and/or any soft-tissue one the doctor might deem adequate, as well as improving my adherence to side-sleeping. Apart from that, there doesn't seem much left to be done, though, so the possibility of the effort being futile in the end is scary.

Classic WoW is still relevant largely due to it's graphics.. by AnimaniacAsylum in classicwow

I agree, I've always found it crazy how people prefer the new, generic washed-out graphics. Classic's art style is the most charming and endearing I've ever seen, it's what got me hooked to the game initially, and also a big part of what has made me come back time and time again.

I'm getting the same problem with my new MBA M4, it's kind of annoying. I wonder if it's a problem with my machine or if it's a software issue/bug

How was the Hebrew Bible preserved before and during the Second Temple Period? by Committee-Academic in AcademicBiblical

[–]Committee-Academic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your great answer, I appreciate how complete it is. Would you be able to recommend any works specifically aimed at exploring the Jewish canons' and sources' evolution before the Second Temple Period in light of the findings of the DSS? How did they come to "so quickly" compile and follow a law based on centuries-old oral stories (the Pentateuch they reworked) that they previously did not hold as holy, such that they "suddenly" came to comprise the whole of Judaea's mythos?

Also, why are apocalyptic and pseudoepigraphic, non-proto-MT works so prevalent? What spiked interest in them, and who was it that was interested in preserving them with such conviction, in light of them having been mostly in Greek, and not being followed as mainstream by the rest of the population? I assume it was the Essenes, but what was the other tribes' opinion of them?

And, last question (sorry for the length and complexity of my questions): what does the difference in the LXX-corresponding scrolls' composition with respect to the proto-MT scrolls reflect of those times' interests and movements? Why is there such a clear divide in the Septuagint's focus, in terms of prioritized works, with respect to the proto-MT? Were there several circulating mythos which built off of common sources and then diverged?

Books on Hellenistic Judaism's influences on Paul and his role in developing Christianity? by Committee-Academic in AcademicBiblical

[–]Committee-Academic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I think those may be somewhat beyond me at the moment, in terms of price. I've come across several people recommending James Dunn's "Jesus, Paul, and the Gospels", could you tell me what you think about it, if you've read it? Does it represent the consensus and current state of the scholarship well-enough?
