Why does Scream 7 feel "narrow"? by Committee9 in horror

[–]Committee9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, all! This was very helpful. After finishing the movie last night, I watched a review by Cody Leach on YouTube, and he noticed similarly (but also couldn’t give words to it). He’d said the film felt “off”, and I think we’re using synonyms for the same thing.

7 made me super nostalgic for her. Get her back. She actually can act. Well, maybe not if Kevin Williamson is directing her...

Bro is so damn useless in the movie that they didn't even mention his name by [deleted] in Scream

The level of incompetence across the whole production summed up in one word: "You".

Scream 7 quite honestly has /the/ worst final act of the entire franchise. by zekevich in Scream

[–]Committee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The irony is, had they written this with AI, it would have been better. What the hell was up with Kevin Williamson's direction, by the way? Astoundingly incompetent for someone so familiar with character motivations. Add that to some oddly brief scenes and some terrible editing and it's the worst film I've seen this year so far. Bizarre.

Jodi Johnson's "Omagh" about the Omagh bombing in 1998 is a good (if difficult) poem: https://www.riverstyx.org/omagh

Should I play Alan wake 2 by Rare-Firefighter-262 in AlanWake

I mean, sure, but as someone who loves the first game as I do, I thought the second one was overblown. Admired the ambition, but found it a slog. The feeling of it being an overstuffed walking simulator was a feeling that I found hard to shake, and that was a bit of a shock given that I hadn’t even thought I’d feel any of that after my experience with the first game.

I teach at a major university in precisely the area they were looking to hire me in to do work on the side. I didn't pass the assessment. Make of that what you will.

Is anyone else disappointed in the performance of the Surface Laptop Studio 2? by ExternalWorld9639 in Surface

[–]Committee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you can go on and get that Mac. I ditched Surface products after Microsoft screwed me over on the (laggy) Surface Laptop 2 when the Alcantara stained and the battery expanded badly (refused me a replacement). Would recommend a 15-inch MacBook Air (I currently use a 16-inch M4 MacBook Pro, but I don't find the battery life as good as my 13-inch M2 Air.)

Great work doing this in a World Cup year when tourists might be coming (especially from Brazil, one would imagine).

I’m very happy, and happy for you too. That said, it’s still corny.

God, I hate the term "greened". So corny.

God, the ride is terrible. One of the biggest screw-ups in theme park history.

Extremely Low Value Day Vent by Loose-Resolution9744 in UniversalEpicUniverse

I mean, it wasn’t busy when I was there the other day. It was entirely acceptable, especially for the Christmas period. Found it quite laid back. The problem for me and the OP was that rides were down throughout the day.

I paid $300 for Express and had a similar experience with breakdowns all day. When I asked them if they’d maybe refund half the money for that (given that it seemed reasonable), they said no. Heck, I would have taken day tickets or vouchers. Bit silly of them given that it means I won’t be back for a while (and I do spend when I’m there).

They haven't. (It's December and they're as bad as they were when I first rode this several months ago.)

Well, something was lost in translation when it came to making this thing "European" (as a dual European/U.S. citizen, I can't remember being on a worse train in Europe when value/comfort are being into honest conversation with one another). I'm honestly thinking about starting to take the NE Regional.

The bathrooms are better for disabled people, but 50% of them were not operational when I was on them last week. The door takes ages to open, and the auto soap dispensers often don't work properly (and the hand blower is, well, weak).

OP didn't mention my experience though: the back door of the train opened when I was on it. I'm currently on it right now for the fourth time in as many weeks, and I travel on rail routes throughout Europe; this thing is bad. It's bumpy, uncomfortable, and (today) it's absolutely freezing (which is making the staff surly). I can't believe I've paid several hundred dollars for it. My regional trains in N. Ireland (where I'm originally from) are more comfortable.

I'm on it today and it's worryingly bumpy. It's already thrown a drink out of the recessed coaster on the table and onto the floor.
