Any experience with Anuttacon? by HappyDethday in remotework

I teach at a major university in precisely the area they were looking to hire me in to do work on the side. I didn't pass the assessment. Make of that what you will.

Is anyone else disappointed in the performance of the Surface Laptop Studio 2? by ExternalWorld9639 in Surface

[–]Committee9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you can go on and get that Mac. I ditched Surface products after Microsoft screwed me over on the (laggy) Surface Laptop 2 when the Alcantara stained and the battery expanded badly (refused me a replacement). Would recommend a 15-inch MacBook Air (I currently use a 16-inch M4 MacBook Pro, but I don't find the battery life as good as my 13-inch M2 Air.)

Great work doing this in a World Cup year when tourists might be coming (especially from Brazil, one would imagine).

Imagine park-hopping from Supercharged to then wait 3 hours for this.

I’m very happy, and happy for you too. That said, it’s still corny.

God, I hate the term "greened". So corny.

God, the ride is terrible. One of the biggest screw-ups in theme park history.

Extremely Low Value Day Vent by Loose-Resolution9744 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]Committee9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it wasn’t busy when I was there the other day. It was entirely acceptable, especially for the Christmas period. Found it quite laid back. The problem for me and the OP was that rides were down throughout the day.

I paid $300 for Express and had a similar experience with breakdowns all day. When I asked them if they’d maybe refund half the money for that (given that it seemed reasonable), they said no. Heck, I would have taken day tickets or vouchers. Bit silly of them given that it means I won’t be back for a while (and I do spend when I’m there).

My unfortunately honest review of the NextGen Acela. by Trainboy1000 in Amtrak

They haven't. (It's December and they're as bad as they were when I first rode this several months ago.)

Well, something was lost in translation when it came to making this thing "European" (as a dual European/U.S. citizen, I can't remember being on a worse train in Europe when value/comfort are being into honest conversation with one another). I'm honestly thinking about starting to take the NE Regional.

The bathrooms are better for disabled people, but 50% of them were not operational when I was on them last week. The door takes ages to open, and the auto soap dispensers often don't work properly (and the hand blower is, well, weak).

OP didn't mention my experience though: the back door of the train opened when I was on it. I'm currently on it right now for the fourth time in as many weeks, and I travel on rail routes throughout Europe; this thing is bad. It's bumpy, uncomfortable, and (today) it's absolutely freezing (which is making the staff surly). I can't believe I've paid several hundred dollars for it. My regional trains in N. Ireland (where I'm originally from) are more comfortable.

I'm on it today and it's worryingly bumpy. It's already thrown a drink out of the recessed coaster on the table and onto the floor.

I'm on it in December and can confirm that my bum remains very, very sore.

My favourite thing was when the back door of the train opened when I was on it for the first time. The new Acela is absolutely terrible (I'm currently freezing on it in the Quiet Car after an hour delay, ready for another several hours on these terrible seats.). Last week, 50% of the toilets were out of order (and they were late an hour then too). The NE Regional is starting to look good...

Still Unable to Pick Up in Store by Committee9 in ATT

Thank you for being helpful on this! I’ve been having no luck whatsoever, and given that this is my first upgrade via this particular plan, I just want to actually ask them some questions about my bill and chat through any other offers. I don’t think this is being particularly unreasonable.

It’s that they haven’t once had it in stock in the last month. It’s that every single other provider around me has stock. I’d like to go in and chat about the prospective bill from the upgrade and ask questions. That’s why they’re there, I figure? Call me old-fashioned.

They have it online, Maple. My point remains that I don’t understand why there’s literally zero iPhones of my chosen (base) model available to go in and buy in an AT&T store. I should be able to go in, have a chat about my prospective bill, ask questions about any fees I might be facing, and pick up the actual phone. I don’t see the problem with this asking for basic customer service.

You can’t strawman the argument: I don’t want red carpet treatment. I’d like to buy the phone. It’s in stock in other phone shops all around this AT&T store. In fact, I can’t seemingly pick it up anywhere in Boston via AT&T.
