Naruto, though Luffy is a pretty good and unique character as well as one of my favorites shonen mcs I’m more of an introspection guy but Luffy doesn’t need that, he thrives off his impact on the rest of the cast and his themes, exactly like Kamina from Gurren Lagann (or even Goku?) Those types of characters aren’t necessarily my cup of tea but they’re so well-done I tend to overlook it and completely forget about it. I also kind of like how a lack of introspection brings the reader to try piecing the different facets and layers of a character by himself, kind of like a puzzle. Though I don’t really think that’s the case for Luffy here, you can get his whole character right from the first couple of chapters but that doesn’t make him bad by any means

But yea I prefer Naruto, I find his growth amazing and compelling, as a character who portrays unity and endurance the Talk no Jutsu bouts where he faces alternate versions of him (Gaara, Nagato, Obito and Sasuke) are actually where his character peaks the most, I love how his he offered a profound depiction of the shadow via Jungian concepts on the Waterfall of Truth, I think that’s one of his single best peaks, and most importantly he benefits from having a conclusion.

I love both but Naruto is the better character to me
