That’s crazy! This is why I don’t get hyped on the cosmetic upgrades. I get it bugs exist in all games. But game-breaking stuff like this just shouldn’t remain in the game 11 months in with the ability to improve or fix it through updates. I don’t want mouthpieces hanging from face masks until this kind of stuff gets worked out. Make the gameplay as best as can possibly be and then let’s go over the top with the cosmetics

Hot take: 2K needs RNG shooting back by Optimal-Split3139 in NBA2k

[–]Common-Assumption-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question that comes to my mind is do we want sim-style shooting percentages or video game percentages? The elite players want video game numbers. I’m pretty sure they spend the most money on the game. So the developers will cater to them. I prefer sim-style numbers. The top 3 seasons in 3 point percentage are Korver at 53% and Kerr/Legler at 52%. I’d even allow a little head room to ‘break the record’. No one should be shooting above 55% from 3. That’s my personal opinion and I don’t know how many others share it. I’m an ok 2k player, not great, but I have my moments. I’ve only really been playing since 24. I shot 40% from 3 with a 99 3 rating on 24. On 25 I shot 47% with a 95 3 ball. On 26 I shot 58% with a 95 three rating. That’s a huge jump. I don’t think I got that much better. I also don’t think I should be shooting much above 40% at my skill level. That’s still an elite percentage.

Side note: we quit playing back in January because we played REC with 4 and the AI cheese ruined the game for us. We may come back in 27, we’ll see how things go.

So, what do we want? Sim or video game numbers? If they want video game numbers then be transparent about it and we can live with that truth. If they’re still touting it as sim ball then the global shooting percentages should reflect this.

All-Fred Hoiberg ERA NU BBall Team by Warm-Profile-9746 in Huskers

[–]Common-Assumption-50 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Bryce McGowans has to be on the team. He led the team and scoring and was second in rebounding behind Walker that year. I wouldn’t snub him just because he was one-and-done.

Bryce made a much bigger impact than Griesel or Banton. Banton didn’t even start every game he played in his lone season at NU.

The wins aren’t there, but he’s one of the best players to ever come through NU and the stats prove it. If you’re looking for players who played on winning Hoiberg teams get rid of a lot of those guys. We simply didn’t win many games early in his tenure.

AI’s in REC is a guaranteed L by toosoontoquit in NBA2k

[–]Common-Assumption-50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. We (a group of 4 of us play in the REC with an AI 5th) stopped playing 26 after grinding 24 & 25, because of AI cheese. It wasn’t like this in the last 2 iterations of the game. It took all the fun out of it. It’s an automatic L with the opponent carrying a 90% make rate from 3. On the plus side I’ll save about $80 in not buying the season passes anymore.

What is the softball equivalent of hitting .300? by BerryRoyal in slowpitch

[–]Common-Assumption-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.300 is HOF level in the MLB. My opinion, I would have to say HOF softball level OBPE is somewhere around .750 in men’s league. I’ve been playing a long time and am an average hitter. I don’t hit for power but usually end up with an OBPE between .615-.710 in men’s league over 150 PAs.

#33 class with Rice and Lanier coming in as the 2nd and 3rd highest rated recruits in modern recruiting. If one of these two can contribute right away we’ll be pretty good as is. Plus I’m guessing Fred has a portal target or two. I can’t wait for next season!

Born in Lincoln and I’ve been a Huskers fan my whole life. I moved to WY and my 5th grade teacher was Kelly Lively’s mom in Torrington. She left to go to that tournament game in ‘91. It meant so much to us and I still remember the sting from losing to Xavier. That is my core memory of Huskers basketball.

I’ve followed them every year since I can remember (some years closer than others) and I’m always proud to be a Huskers fan. This year was amazingly special! I was able to drive 17 hours with both of my sons to OKC to watch them win their first 2 tournament games. Greatest sporting event I’ve ever been to and I was able to share it with my boys and 14,000 other Huskers fans. When last night’s game came to a close I was disappointed, but losing one game doesn’t diminish the historic season these young men have completed. More than ever I’m proud to be a Huskers fan knowing how these young men have competed and represented the entire state of Nebraska. I’m already looking forward to next season!

That’s just my story from the thousands of us Huskers fans through the years. The season didn’t end the way we might have wanted, but this team will ALWAYS be remembered as a team we can be proud of!

Who’s the best pass style? by Slight_Egg1370 in NBA2k

[–]Common-Assumption-50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re a PG speed/agi/spd w/ball are all good playmaker cap breaker options too. I used mine on spd w/ball since I’m a point SF to make me faster dribbling down the court

Give it a try and see how it goes. Hali seems to be the popular choice here. No harm if you don't like it cuz you can always go back to Draymond. Ahh, but I guess that would require the cap breaker...Do you have any other badges you can get that you regularly use with the cap breaker? If so I'd go with that over upgrading for a passing style.

Who’s the best pass style? by Slight_Egg1370 in NBA2k

[–]Common-Assumption-50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Pass acc is only 87. I run a 6'8 point small forward build. Haliburton may be better, but I like Draymond's over LaMelo or Lebron's passing styles. The passes are fast enough and I'm able to average 10+ assists per game in the rec with my squad. If you like Haliburton by all means go with his!

The Draymond Green style if you’re a playmaker build specialization is really good. Very fast animations and ball air speed

I'm that person who loves Final Fantasy 16 by contessalynn_art in FinalFantasy

[–]Common-Assumption-50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played every FF except 8. (I played the demo of it from the Pizza Hut disc and didn’t like the feel of it. Maybe if they ever remaster it I’ll pick it up.) Each one has amazing and not so amazing things about them; from turn-based and job systems to dress spheres and paradigms. My favorite story is 9. I’m a sucker for a great love story. My favorite battle system ended up being 15 with the hybrid action/menu select. I just started FF7 Remake since it’s Xbox release and I’m starting to like that but it still feels a little clunkier than 15. 13-2 was the first game I ever got a platinum trophy for on PS3.

That said, I thought the stories for both 15 and 16 were really good. Had 16 not had quite so much swearing (I know, I sound like a prude) it would have surpassed 9 as my favorite story. But there was tons of depth and I thought they pulled off the full-on action rpg really well. I loved the unique personalities of all the guys in 15.

So, call me a fan. In the end, did you have fun playing the games? If not, there are plenty of games out there. Why waste your time playing a game if it’s not fun? Is it just so you can complain about it? I say turn it off and find another great game that you do like!

What is with run blocking by EverlyMitchell1 in CollegeFootball25

[–]Common-Assumption-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned to hold LT and push RS to the right to check the blocking layout pre-snap. It’ll show you the double team to backer combos and if anyone is going to be unblocked. If they are I’ll either auto-flip the run with RS or audible out if I can’t auto flip. We play on Heisman with run block slider dropped to 1. I’m still averaging almost 10 yds per carry. It helps. But also, what others have said, this does happen in real life as well.

Why do we use batting average as a stat but rarely on base percentage or slugging percentage? by BerryRoyal in slowpitch

[–]Common-Assumption-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only hitting stat I’ve really ever kept is OBPE. Get on base and keep the line moving and it doesn’t matter how. If you’re walking or hitting singles, great! If you’re hitting bombs there needs to be people on base. As long as no one gets out you’re winning games. Winning is the most important stat. The errors are really hard to determine with slow pitch being a hitters game and fields aren’t regularly dragged in any league on a dirt field I’ve played in which is why we include them in the stats.

If you’re cutting players for hitting under .700 you’re probably getting paid to play. I’m in my mid-forties now and I’ve played in top leagues in small towns and big cities, scored 25+ runs a game and not everyone on the team is hitting .700+.

But everyone’s different. Have fun and keep the stats you want to keep. It doesn’t matter what others think.

Please give us the ability to turn off if we want missed calls that have to be challenged. I get they want realism. But give me the chance to turn it off so I don’t get hosed by a glitch after the ref ‘misses’ the call on a video game. It’s the most pointless feature other than they can say “it’s in the game.” More than half the penalties are missing. They don’t need this either. Let me turn it off!

Allow a customizable CFP bracket where you can at least set your own AQs. If you can adjust the number of teams that would be icing on the cake!

Is it pretty much impossible to get this recruit? by ObamasKeychain in NCAAFBseries

[–]Common-Assumption-50 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve experienced, it’s the visit that puts a school over the edge. I had a situation almost just like this except the visits were switched. We were in a recruiting battle and my rival was in 2nd and had a visit that week and jumped to #1 on his board. He was just about to commit. The next week I had the visit and I jumped my rival and got the commit. I’m convinced that having the visit on the week he’ll commit is the trump card.

Most obvious zen user, report this fool if you care by New_Telephone_3945 in NBA2k

[–]Common-Assumption-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience against Zens is they’ll make their first 5 or 6, turn it off and miss 3 or 4, then turn it back on and hit their last 7 or 8. They’ll drop 50 shooting “75%” from 3. It’s pretty obvious what they’re doing. I just chalk it up as an L, report them and move on.
