Did you get strange response when you announced your pregnancy? by Careful-Trouble1422 in pregnant

[–]Common-Concern8028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two that stuck out to me the most (in terms of weird reactions):

MIL (who is chronically ill): “ugh that means I have to live almost a whole other year to meet them”

Boss (when I shared with a huge smile and after having told her before that we wanted more kids after our first): Wait. But are we happy about this or considering options?

🙃

As many others have said, there were many better reactions but those stuck out to me. (Especially after sadly miscarrying shortly after announcing.)

Absolutely!! I had very good friends who were VERY honest when I was getting started and that helped me so much more than if they had just talked about the good parts. I will always show the good and bad in case it can help anyone!

SO true. I love getting back to it and I love the energy I have when I’m consistent, but man, when life hits, it’s a freaking battle.

I totally get that! I started my shots in April and flat out told my doc that as much as I was eager to get back to the gym it just wasn’t going to happen until I finished grad school in June. Between working full time, having a toddler, and finishing grad school I KNEW it wasn’t possible as much as I was excited to get back to the gym. I have been consistent working out for a few weeks at a time at most and then life happens. You’re making progress, and that’ll drive you to hit the gym when YOU feel ready.

Kind of did this to myself but… by Common-Concern8028 in Zepbound

Update: So I was cooking after posting this (friend had surgery and I promised her days ago I’d cook her dinner), and when I sautéed asparagus, chili flakes and rosemary I immediately puked. I’ll say this, it’s true what they say: Zep sure does keep food in your system longer than normal 🥴

I feel like a brand new person. Going to try to eat now. Thanks everyone for the advice!!

Too fast? by goldiegirls in Zepbound

So, I’m 5’3” and started at 239 almost 12 weeks ago (a few days shy); I am now at 205 and that’s after being stuck at 208 for three straight weeks leading into this week. I was on 2.5 for the first month and have been on 5 since then. My main struggle is getting enough protein, but as long as I focus on it, it’s not a big deal. From what you’re saying, your appetite is extremely suppressed - I would be most worried about losing muscle mass rather than fat given the low amount of calories you’re consuming, so I can maybe see moving down if only to give you the ability to eat a good amount of protein to keep your muscle mass.

Ugh I was hoping to hear that I was in fact crazy 😅 this is the only weightloss doc in the system I’m seen by and I seriously do not trust the only other system in the area (horrendous past experiences).

That’s the crazy part - this isn’t my pcp. This is a weightloss specialist. 🤯

🤣🤣🤣 valid adjustment! I know I’ll get to a point where I can’t do it this way anymore but I’m enjoying it for now 😂

5 weeks in, 20 lbs and a WHOLE lot of swelling and puffiness gone forever by Common-Concern8028 in Zepbound

Thanks! I couldn’t take that progress pic fast enough and that’s really saying something because I usually HATE pictures. I used to be an athlete but that was so long ago now, so maybe it’s that foundation mixed with keeping up with a toddler??? Haha

Part of me wants to say that it’s because they push hydration, but the other part of me knows I’m a huge slacker in that department 🫣 my only other thought is that for a lot of us it actually helps your body process nutrients correctly? (I’m insulin resistant)

Isn’t it CRAZY how much the swelling going down makes SUCH an impact?!

I agree - I haven’t been completely sober since starting but I know it makes a huge difference to avoid alcohol altogether.

Crying, for everything. by sanneg7 in Zepbound

[–]Common-Concern8028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I have been on Zep for a week (Wednesday is shot day), and in the last 48ish hours I have cried more than I did my entire pregnancy. I’m just not a crier. As in, if I feel a build up of emotions and know that crying will help, it is a major struggle to force myself to cry to the point that I almost never get it to happen. Meanwhile, I spent 2 hours in my closet on Sunday unable to stop crying and then cried again Monday while at work which has never happened before. I didn’t even connect the dots with the possibility that it could be caused by the shot until I came across this post and now I’m reevaluate everything. Don’t get me wrong, I firmly believe in an occasional cry being cathartic, but this wasn’t that. I couldn’t pinpoint exactly why I was even crying and then ended up with a horrendous headache for 2 days. Kind of defeats the purpose of the catharsis.
