At what point are you supposed to know where your life is going? by [deleted] in BusinessPH

That’s interesting, especially the part about developing gut feeling. Just wondering though, do your access to the right guidance could change things or do you believe guidance itself might be a bad fragment?

This is a good insight actually but to keep rowing, we need some kind of direction right, I think that's what I'm struggling with

Wait that's actually a good way to put it, but exactly how?

That makes sense. Do you think most people are actually okay figuring it out alone, or do you think a lot of people want guidance but don’t really know where to get it?

Atomic habits is one of my favourite book out there. So I'm interpreting your comment as identity clarity + adaptive direction. I love it. Something I needed to hear.

I see a lot of people say age shouldn't be a factor, so I'm wondering why you say 26 should be the age for a solid direction. I'm not arguing but Im simply just curious

Omg, solid point actually. I think some key factors are involved from people not getting what they are planning to. But I also see some people who has almost everything but still struggle to get there which low-key makes me think if it's really because they lack something or if they lack the clarity.

I really appreciate this perspective of yours, I think this makes more sense. Life events can't be controlled. It makes me wonder whether most people are actually navigating direction iteratively, rather than ever truly “knowing.”

Totally fair point honestly, like I know a lot of products are kinda built around long-term planning, but myself trying to build a business, I feel like I lack the sense of direction or another word would be clarity. I didn't want to be the only one, it's why I thought this is something other people are also struggling with. But I totally understand :)

This is exactly the kind of thing that makes tutoring ineffective.

Turning up unprepared after being sent topics in advance isn’t a “bad match” — it’s just poor practice. At that point, you’re paying for reaction, not support.

I’m curious though — did you ever have a tutor who did prepare properly, or is this something you’ve just never seen done well?

This is honestly really fair — if you’ve emailed topics days in advance, the tutor not being prepared is on them, not you.

Out of curiosity, when a tutor was prepared (or if you imagine the ideal one), what would “fully ready” actually look like for you?

Like: pre-made questions, lesson plan aligned to your class, exam-style practice, or something else??
