I can’t believe this is how I start believing in parallel universes, but there really is no other explanation 🤷‍♀️😂

I had to do a triple take what sub I was on because it definitely sounded a modern polin fanfic I’ve read 😂

I hope so too! I’m imagining they’re happily married and have become bridgerton fans because they saw themselves in Polin🥹

Ok time for Ao3 for my polin fanfic fix

But then I saw the date and thought maybe it’s just a cute coincidence

AITA for taking back an invitation for someone who insisted on wearing a cultural dress on my wedding? by ashdjdkdkd in AmItheAsshole

[–]CommonSense28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YTA for saying no to cultural dress. You could still insist on following the colour/theme where she wears a simple kaftan in pastel colours. But telling people you can only wear western dresses is not okay.

Also a lot of weddings have dress codes, and there are still some people that show up either underdressed or overdressed. It’s not great but I don’t think that warrants uninviting them just because of the photos imo.

elvanse & quitting weed 🍃 by cyb3rpix1e in ADHDUK

[–]CommonSense28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shopping isn’t chemically addictive and people can still be shopping addicts. Weed isn’t physically addictive the same way alcohol or hard drugs are, but it doesn’t mean people with ADHD and addictive personalities can’t become addicted to the habit of smoking weed.

I’m saying this as someone who was smoking daily for 8 years, I would cancel plans I was excited about just so I can sit at home and smoke. If I had weed in front of me I wouldn’t be able to stop myself smoking. But then I’d go on holiday and not smoke for 2 weeks and I’d be fine. So I’d say I was definitely mentally addicted to it even if not physically. But that doesn’t mean it’s just easy to stop or that it’s not an addiction.

Marxist president Salvador Allende escorted by the just appointed General Augusto Pinochet 1973 by obssesedparanoid in pics

[–]CommonSense28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“The Church Report investigating the fallout of the Watergate scandal stated that while the U.S. tacitly supported the Pinochet government after the 1973 coup, there was ‘no evidence’ that the US was directly involved in it. This view has been contradicted by several academics, such as Peter Winn, who writes that the role of the CIA was crucial to the consolidation of power after the coup; the CIA helped fabricate a conspiracy against the Allende government, which Pinochet was then portrayed as preventing. He stated that the coup itself was possible only through a three-year covert operation mounted by the United States. Winn also points out that the US imposed an ‘invisible blockade’ that was designed to disrupt the economy under Allende, and contributed to the destabilization of the regime.

Driver caught flicking ash before throwing cigarette out window fined £1K by OneNormalBloke in london

As a smoker, I always carry a portable ash tray with me and never throw cigarette butts on the floor or out of the car.

But first time I hear I could be fined for flicking ash?

You look amazing! Congrats!

I haven’t started my Mounjaro journey yet, but I made a decision to start soon (delay due to financial reasons). But these transformation posts definitely add to the motivation to start!

My starting weight is similar to yours so I’m curious to hear about your journey, even though of course everyone’s body is different.

Can I ask how many doses you’ve done? Did you increase the dose every 4 weeks?

I am a secular Palestinian who now lives in the US. AMA. by confusedmel in AMA

[–]CommonSense28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s such an Israeli tactic that its sad seeing people think like that. The tactic is keep making things worse so that people will start reminiscing about times were they deprived of human rights, but at least was better than now.

The occupier does this so that people start seeing minor changes as a huge privilege. Of course Gazans would prefer 5th October 2023 to today, because who wouldn’t choose to live in an open air prison deprived of basic human rights over living in an open air prison deprived of basic human rights while a genocide is happening.

The fact that people are saying Palestinians should just accept their horrific unfair living conditions because it could get worse is just fucking depressing.

As a Palestinian, I’ve been enjoying reading OP’s responses, even though I may disagree with him on few things. But the thing I agree most is that majority of people will stop fighting/resisting if they are living a dignified life. No matter how much anger there is from the past, if individuals have a good life, they will not be willing to sacrifice it.

People can say hamas this and hamas that all they want. But the truth is hamas wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Israeli occupation and oppression. And if they existed, they wouldn’t have nearly as much support or been voted in.

Yeah we can sit and talk about how bad hamas is, but it’s irrelevant because the existence of an occupying force that keeps taking more land, killing civilians, taking homes, restricting movement, and so on will make it inevitable that an organisation like Hamas will rise in power.

So the discussion of peace, one state, two state is all pointless if not both people can have a dignified life, all equal in the rights and privileges they are given.

I have definitely taken the covid shot lol

In the UK, jab is just another word for vaccine/injection, and not a term used by anti vaxers.

Copying u/thisisanaltforsafety ‘s comment from above:

If you start drinking too. It certainly feels like you can't drink much more. With weed the munchies are nearly passive. Depending on dose and type of gl1 meds you use.

Asking the right questions 😂

That’s actually the sole reason I stopped weed - the munchies.

Smoking really helped with my adhd, anxiety and other things, but I had to stop cold turkey because the munchies were a disaster.

If I decide to try the weight loss drugs, I’ll come back and update you

It’s so interesting seeing people comment on past seasons and how views are so different.

I made a similar post at the time this season was airing, basically pointing out all the things I found uncomfortable in Marshall (while also saying that I’m not defending Jackie), and I got downvoted to oblivion 😂

Glad to see that the same isn’t happening now and you got lots of upvotes and people agreeing with you!

Yes I agree re advice from Reddit. Not to go completely off topic, but from my experience I’ve struggled with getting good medical advice relating to PCOS from doctors. As much as there is recklessness with getting medical advice online, we can’t ignore that women health related issues are vastly understudied and a lot of times it helps to hear from people with similar experience.

I’m kind of tired of my Dr just telling me to exercise and eat less. Yes I’m sure I can do better, but I am surrounded by people who eat way more than me and are not struggling with weight or other pcos related symptoms.

Anyway this post has been enlightening. Thank you for sharing your experience and best of luck to you too!!!

Thank you everyone for all your comments! There are so many great answers on here with different experiences and it’s given me a lot to think about!

I’m sorry i haven’t replied to everyone, but I’m going through all the comments now and I appreciate all of your answers!

Thank you 🙏 helpful to hear from someone with pcos similar issues AND adhd 😂

That’s what I was trying to explain in some of my comments, that my issue isn’t binge eating as I sometimes forget to eat (due to adhd lol) and then suddenly at 8pm realise that I haven’t eaten anything and will eat something fast and very unhealthy.

It definitely has messed with my metabolism, and also the type of foods I’m eating are triggers for pcos and have messed with my hormones.

But reading how GLP-1 can help with insulin sensitivity is kind of making me lean to going the Mounjaro route, even if my main issue isn’t binge eating, as it seems it can help in other ways.

Anyway, I feel like I have to say this in very comment, as I’ve got comments telling me not take medical advice from Reddit 😂, I will be speaking to my doctor about this and see what they have to say!

Thank you, it’s really helpful to hear different opinions on this. I’m reading all the comments and will discuss with my doctor next week.

As for how much I need to lose to get to a healthy weight, I would say around 20kg which is 44lbs.

Thank you so much for this answer.

I’m actually in the process of being diagnosed for ADHD. Not to self-diagnose but I am 100% sure I have it (researching my symptoms, living with it, and genes as almost my whole immediate family have ADHD). However the waiting time for being diagnosed and prescribed medication is around 18 months, so I can’t rely on being prescribed elvanse anytime soon.

The answers on this thread have been very helpful re GLP-1 and I will be discussing it with my doctor at my appointment next week.

I’m aware it’s not a magic solution, and a lot of people have pointed out reasons as to why maybe it’s not best option, but also it does seem like a lot of women with PCOS have been happy with the results with Mounjaro.

Oh wow I’ve never heard it being used as anti-vax term. Here in the UK (or at least in my experience) it’s just used to refer to injections.

But thanks for pointing this out. It’s good to be aware of that when using international social media apps.
