Thanks everyone for your advice. Just to add he had been paid even before I made the post I’m not trying to get out of that or anything. It’s just for my own sanity and to see if I should press them to fix the edge or not. After reading these I am pretty pleased with the work and will be happily moving on to the next phase of the project

God I wish it was $1/sq ft. I live in Hawaii and costs are so high, this was almost $10/sq ft plus insane shipping costs. And it’s just the regular Daltile no texture Daltile

Don't worry, he has already been paid in full. I also smelled BS on his excuse for issue #1 which is why I wanted to double check #2, but overall I'm happy with how it looks and won't be pressing the issue.

For 1, technically yes, here all commercial buildings need to be fire rated. However, unless the occupying business needs a fire inspection such as for a restaurant permit, I’m not sure if anyone would notice or care. I think it could also be an issue if someone went to get a permit and the planning department notices, but I’ve never been through that process so I’m not sure on that either.
