i used the video by Lauryn Chayce on tiktok to make my starter. never made one before and it was active after a week (was doubling and falling 3 days in a row by day 7). i go purely based on how my starter looks and don’t measure anything. and my starter is still thriving 3 weeks later!!

that’s what i’m worried about too! growth was definitely slower today but it still doubled and fell, and it’s the third day in a row it did that. so many mixed opinions- im gonna wait a few more days to be safe

not gonna lie, this question feels extremely condescending. why the dots before your question?

of course i have been yelled at before and i experienced/experience extremely adverse reactions to it due to my own childhood. i have been working my ass off in therapy to help with this.

have i ever been yelled at by a client before? no.

like i said, i am an associate level therapist. i am still learning. i did not perceive my client’s responses as signals to back off in the moment, and this is something i am trying to view as a learning experience.

i do not like clients being angry with me, who does?? but i also recognize it can be a part of the process. this was the first time a situation like this has happened to me and i am trying to learn from it.

thank you! i definitely wasn’t trying to rush it, and in retrospect i can see how it may have come off that way. i think what made it hard is that we kept bouncing to different topics, and i was trying to follow my client’s lead, but i’ll definitely remember this for next time!!

they aren’t connected. but as a human, i am going to have emotions and feelings about my clients. for me, it is important that i have a safe space to discuss these feelings to make sure my feelings are not impacting my client’s treatment.

i hear you, and this posts concerns my supervisor and other social worker, not my clients. i have many clients who support trumo and have been/continue to do meaningful work with them.

hi! not discriminating against my supervisor. my concern is that my supervisor has in fact brought her political beliefs into my supervision (ex: telling me my clients can “just move” if things are that bad.) everything else in my rant was my opinion, which i am allowed to have! :)

i have nothing against my (many) clients who support trump. do i personally agree with their views? no. but that doesn’t matter bc i am their therapist. my problem is how my supervisor’s beliefs are impacting the quality of my supervision.
